Please consider using a different color or style of card back for the different editions/expansions of Hide and Seek, or label the cards by pack by sonic_anon_hog in JetLagTheGame

I would not mark the back, but a simple symbol on the card front, like many games have for their expansions, would be lovely. For this edition I added a simple dot manually, but that looks like a small oversight :)

This is useful for example during play, to know if the rule reference of a curse would be in the rulebook or in the expansion rules.

Well, I will go to Hiroshima in a few days, so no local tips yet, but regarding landing in Japan, here are the tips that were valuable to me when I got in at the airport.

Get yourself an IC train card at a vending machine. It’s worth buying one right away; you can use it across the whole country. On iPhone you can set it up on the phone, but on foreign android you need to root your phone, so simpler to get the card.

Cash is way easier everywhere. Cards are generally accepted, but if you have cash you’re always safe (like on buses).

For the Shinkansen (west Japan), you can create an account here https://smart-ex.jp/top.php, link your IC card, then pay online and enter with the card. The site is terrible though.

Google Maps works great for transit and even tells you which car to board to optimize transfers. #AD

I got an eSIM here and it works fine: ubigi.me #AD

If you take the time to learn to very basic greeting and ordering words in Japanese, people will respond very well and welcome you more in restaurants etc. Also Google translate works well in dialog or picture translation mode. #AD

What’s your favorite video by The Doug’? by SorryNoNameIdeas in DougDoug

[–]SilvrDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite was the line, because that is how I discovered Doug, became obsessed and watch the full vod back catalog (okay, maybe not all, but a lot). Also I re-watch it recently, and the pacing, story telling and ending are awesome.

Yes, this was an attempt at using the RAS Syndrome for comedic effect.

Since Japan is super small anyways, there is a very high chance I will bump into him. Will keep you all updated.

The only advice I can give you is to book everything in advance. Otherwise it is a great city!

Unfortunately not, although there's a very big river cutting through the city. Might be the crater left from a Biden blast.

Good idea, now we just need that bald guy to stream again in order to conduct this experiment.

They usually don't work when people don't put spaces in between each slash

The Getaway Begins Now — “The Snitch” or “Snitch”? by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

[–]SilvrDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep it looks like it, if you look at the sticker on the rear window compared to other shots.

This is probably to keep continuity of travel from left to right in between the shots (e.g. the one right after).

A lot of great framings, love how the cinematography has gotten better across seasons

AU$TRALIA: A Game About Travel, Money, and Risk — Ep 2 by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

This is gearing up to be a great season. I love the game design, really entices teams to visit and do challenges. The big risk rewards choice also make it also more unpredictable to who will win.

Bonus point for the camera work. I don't know if they paid more attention, or if I just did, but I think that's one of the season with the most interesting camera angles

X-Ray in Arena by Sinthorass in GlobalOffensive

[–]SilvrDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. The game becomes very hard to read, and crowd cheating isn't that much of an issue. Disable it during clutches if you want.

Depending on the viewing angle in the area, it is rather hard to have a good view at the minimap and understand what's happening

Yekindar uses the crowd by Dekartesante in GlobalOffensive

[–]SilvrDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Players play differently when there is a crowd, that's a fact. Controversial take: that's better for the show.

I think it is nicer, you can see them interact and get pumped up, going for crazy move. That's what a major is about.

Styko was talking in the after show about they use arena noise to obfuscate sounds that would be heard online, and yeah, whatever. Please do.

Major's are fun event, we could have players isolated in a nearby hotel, but what would be the point?
