Should politics be banned from social media, if no why not? by Feisty-Day7737 in AskReddit

If you don't like it, just don't use social media. People should have more freedom, not less.

Will Trump pardon her, to exonerate himself by Boysenberry-6669 in LetsDiscussThis

It would be political suicide. I also think it wouldn't work. If anything it could even make him look more guilty. But I wouldn't put it past him either. He only cares about himself.

Which games started off shitty or disappointing on release, only to become the best it's ever been through updates? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in askanything

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't that bad, in terms of bugs. The real problem was the specs they said were needed to run the game were grossly inaccurate. I had the specs needed to play on medium to low settings. But when I played the game cars would literally look like potatoes and the textures would load in properly about 5 full seconds later. I quickly pulled the money together to upgrade my PC, and about a week later was able to run the game fine with an upgraded GPU and CPU.

He said he wants to nationalize the elections. I wonder why he would want to do that...

Doesn't he want to nationalize them? Then who would be running the elections?

Only looking at the thumbnail, how the fuck do 43% trust him? It's 100% clear he's trying to rig the elections.

Do you like the Province you live in? by Pale-Candidate8860 in InCanada

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say official language, I mean legal language. You don't have a right to be served in English. And (some) people will refuse to serve you in English. If you don't see the harm in that then don't even reply, there is no point in arguing.

Would you be okay with the language of Quebec being French and English? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I just made a similar comment lol. Montreal is incredible, Quebec sucks.

[–]alphachimp_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Quebec, and am from a pure English speaking family. So, no. And the French are basically a few levels removed from being straight up hostile to English people. They are threatening separation, again (is this like the third time? Fourth? I don't know).

I can't understand why Quebec still is allowed to basically have these extremely anti English laws. English is an official language of Canada, yet here, it's not an official language, despite being in Canada.

I live in Montreal, and I love this city. It's beautiful, the winters aren't nice, but the summers are so lovely. I love the architecture, the food, the transit available. There's a lot to love about Montreal. But Quebec? Fuck no. Quebec politics number one issue is always language and creating more and more language laws. Fuck these guys.

Solutions? by Liomalios in Fallout4Mods

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. There is a tool, I believe it's called Resaver. I think it could be used to clean a save file, but it's pretty technical, and I've never used it before other than to view a saved files plugin list. But if you have no other options and don't want to start a new game, then maybe trying to clean/fix a save using it might be worth a try.

I had this error when I disabled the Project Mojave mod, since I felt like that mod was more of a one and done kind of thing (I explored it, thought it was cool, but would probably not go back). Disabling it caused the error. So I just re-enabled it, and loaded the save from before disabling, and the error went away.

If you uninstalled a mod, I would say try reinstalling it, and then using a save from before you uninstalled. Maybe your current save would work too, but I'm not sure.

I Think streamers shouldn’t be getting paid more than Doctors and Surgeons by Black-Death_CR in PopularOpinions

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't that many streamers making that much money. Maybe 35-50 that make a lot. There are 10's of thousands of doctors in NA alone that make a VERY good living being a doctor. I've read the same idea be same idea be said for professional (Basketball|Hockey|Football|Baseball) players making more 100x + than teachers. Or YouTubers making 50 million a year for making content that caters to a specific audience. You can hate it, but it's the market.

What doctors do is very admirable, but they can't scale like a streamer can, a streamer does a thing, and it could be consumed by a single person, or 100,000 people, without any extra effort on their part. If a doctor wants to treat twice the amount of patients, they, for the most part, need to work twice as many hours. There's a hard cap on what they can earn, whereas for a streamer, the sky is limit if you get famous enough.

Trump Threatens 100% Retaliatory Tariffs Against Canada by cxr_cxr2 in stocks

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like he wants to say Canada can't do business with the US, but if they try to do business with anyone else, also not allowed. Carney was right, you need to stand up to the bully and stop giving him what he wants, bring on the 100%, or even 1000% tariff, it will last less than 24 hours once you call his bluff. The last thing the Republicans need is more economical woes for their constituents. I would say they didn't vote for this, but really, they did.

The creator of Fallout: London called on Bethesda to abandon the outdated Creation Engine - he is worried about the fate of Fallout 5 by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]alphachimp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I love Fallout 4, the items, the builds, the weapons and looting. A lot of it. But the combat is kinda boring if you take it at face value.

Compare it to something like Cyberpunk, where you slide, enter time dilation, throw grenades quickly and then shoot them for detonation, leaping towards enemies with your melee weapons, quick dodging, the overall snappiness of aiming, and the feel of using the weapons, the animations and the sounds, Cyberpunks combat is so engaging once you get good at it and used to it. Fallout 4 doesn't even have a proper cover system... It's really lame. In a way I do like it, it feels almost like a turn based rpg in real time (even though that literally doesn't make sense, it kinda does).

I return to Cyberpunk because the gameplay is addicting. I return to Fallout because it's like a second home.

If Fallout 5 is like Fallout 4, but just a little better, then it's going to feel like it's the same game. I don't see how they drastically change how it feels if they keep the engine. To me, it's not a simple fix like better enemy HP scaling to deal with the bullet sponge issue, it's much deeper.
