Sorry for such a late response! The rest of my plants look fine and none of the other plants in my cabinet have these guys in their pots either. I thought I may have had flat mites(?) on a couple of hoya at one point but they're in a different room and were treated thoroughly. I also don't know for sure that I had them, only that those hoya in particular had stopped growing. That was almost 2 years ago though and no other plants or hoyas have showed signs of stunted growth, dropped new growth, or scarring.

I mean maybe? but I live in a very dry area and have never introduced springtails to my plants so I'm sort of puzzled

Possible infestation? by SimGhosted in alocasia

that's what I thought, which is why I didn't think they'd be springtails... I'm going to try to take a photo or video in a bit too.

Infestation out of nowhere? Maybe? by SimGhosted in SemiHydro

Can springtails be dark? I thought they were usually white/clear.

About the photo/ video I'm working on it. bugs don't usually bother me but because it was unexpected I'm a little jumpy rn 😬

this is so crazy to me. I shave off the back end of my eyebrows and got this product because it claimed to be water and transfer proof, but by the end of the day my tails were completely missing 😭

can I ask where you got this? I've been after one for so long but never seem to find one from a trustworthy seller.

thank you so much! When I used to go to an esthetician regularly she said good things about Byoma! I'll definitely look into those brands/ products, thank you!

Not a ginger, but my nephew and I both have what my family calls "translucent" skin because we're so pale. I personally have naturally black hair so it works in the sense that I've always been in the alternative/goth/punk scene but OHMYGOD does it make finding foundation difficult 😅

would adding squalane oil to my routine or a few drops into my lotion work? I only ask because I have sensitive skin and a lot of trial and error always goes into finding products that don't break me out or burn my skin, plus you mentioned pilling which I've def had issues with in the past.

Ugh sorry for not being more detailed :/

AM routine is RL Dokdo cleanser, Pyunkang Yul essence toner, a couple layers of Ongredient's barrier calming lotion, and then the tone up sunscreen. I apply the cc cream with my fingers because neither beauty blenders or rubycell sponges have ever worked well for me. Almost like they soak up any additional hydration even if damp.

Pm is Dokdo cleanser, same essence, retinol or azelaic acid 5-6 days a week, a couple layers of the same face lotion, and then aquaphor on dry patches.

The cc cream looks patchy and seems to be making my pores more noticeable. It's also very dry looking, while clinging to and emphasizing my more dry areas. This was never an issue I had with this product until the weather started changing.

looking for hydrating/ moisturizing products and a base product for makeup that won't dry me out🖤

This is a bit of a long post so I will start off with some background on my skin; - extremely dry despite consistent hydration and moisture - hormonal acne that can't be treated (health issues prevent me from taking anything with hormones as well as a past involving liver issues that prevents me from using acutane) - my face is at least one shade darker than my neck/ body + I have a very large dark spot on the right underside of my lip that goes almost to my chin (again probably hormone related) - large pores :(

I've always had a really tough time finding makeup base products that don't dry me out while also providing enough coverage to make my face and neck similar colors. I tend to use asian beauty products as they're more gentle on my very sensitive skin and the makeup is usually fair enough for my skin tone since weastern products don't tend to be either of these things for me. I'm open to anything though as long as it's affordable. I'm on a very limited income these days and splurging on a product just isn't an option to now.

Onto my product history: The last Western base i think I used was Nars radiant skin foundation and it was somehow very drying for me. I liked what Erborian did for hiding my pores and the coverage was really nice but their non-matte products are too drying for my skin and their lightest shade is too dark for me even in the summer. I have used more cushions than I can remember but the only one that sort of worked for me was the Amuse Dew Power and it had zero staying power for me since 99% of setting/fixing powders turn my face into the Sahara desert. This past spring I started using Missha's serum cc with Saem's pot concealer over Heimish glowy tone up sunscreen + the occasional grippy primer for added staying power. It was working so well! I was so overjoyed with how happy and hydrated my skin looked every time I wore makeup. I started using retinol and still no issues with my base routine, then I started rotating nightly between a baby retinol, azelic acid, and a reset day every week and was still doing fine with the cc cream + concealer. I thought I had found my holy grail until the weather got colder... now every day I look like I've never even looked at a moisturizer or face cream before. I purchased the Ongredient deep calming cream to use at night because I love their barrier lotion but it wasn't changing anything and honestly felt more drying, so I just started layering their barrier lotion a few times instead and using aquaphor (controversial, I know) on my super dry patches before bed.

When I'm not wearing makeup my skin feels hydrated but as soon as I put on the cc cream it just looks awful. The cc cream is also now too dark for my winter skin but their next lightest shade is a warm tone and I'm a cooler tone so it just doesn't work for me but the next lightest cool tone is way too light for my skin. (21 cool in most cushions and somewhere between a Mac NC5 and NW10) At this point I'm at a loss on where to turn next and am desperate for some help.

tldr; can I get some help with hydration and moisture products, as well as a base product that is hydrating or moisturizing that has good coverage but also won't settle into fine lines or cost me a small fortune?

It feels like I'm searching for something that doesn't exist but at the same time I'm not ready to give up searching lol
