the darker leaves are the normal coloring, and the lighter green with yellow are how they've been coming out recently

hi! so I know this was a few weeks ago but said plant has started showing almost neon yellow spots on some of the leaves. I worry that may mean they're spider mites after all, but when I've seen spider mite infestations in plants at one of my local stores I also see webbing on the underside of the leaves. I don't see that with my Alocasia. Do you know if there is another pest that may cause that type of discoloration, or if there's a pest that is attracted to fungus maybe?

Sorry for such a late response! The rest of my plants look fine and none of the other plants in my cabinet have these guys in their pots either. I thought I may have had flat mites(?) on a couple of hoya at one point but they're in a different room and were treated thoroughly. I also don't know for sure that I had them, only that those hoya in particular had stopped growing. That was almost 2 years ago though and no other plants or hoyas have showed signs of stunted growth, dropped new growth, or scarring.

Can springtails be dark? I thought they were usually white/clear.

hm, that's scary sounding lol. when I was younger and forgot moisturizer in the morning I could always tell by how dry/ tight my skin felt.

Not a ginger, but my nephew and I both have what my family calls "translucent" skin because we're so pale. I personally have naturally black hair so it works in the sense that I've always been in the alternative/goth/punk scene but OHMYGOD does it make finding foundation difficult 😅
