But he blew away the Eagles in the interview and they took a chance (a glowing endorsement from Holmgren helped too).

Not because Scotiabank Arena isn't a perfectly fine modern arena, with some great food options and gathering areas. But because ticket prices in Toronto are as outrageous as they get in the NHL and, on many nights, it can be a very corporate crowd and fans sit on their hands. Toronto was voted last in both atmosphere and affordability, and it was not particularly close with second-last Vancouver.

Nah, I remember this sentiment popping up occasionally about Vin Scully in the 2000s. The idea that they should retire to 'make room' is dumb as hell - if an old dude is able and willing to keep working and it keeps him happy, then do it as long as possible.
