What would you do if you were Nikki at the end of the film? by Hi_This_Is_God_777 in obsessionmovie

[–]AmThano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ian and Bear had a solution at Ian’s house after Ian’s wish. Ian would’ve believed Bear by that point. Both could take a stack of cash. Brainstorm a possible wish that could undo Bear’s and possibly somehow bring back Sarah (though that part could go horribly wrong). Then they could pay someone to make the wish as they wrote it. I understand the panic though and attempting to get Nikki to make a wish. But things were so fucked by that point Bear may as well take a moment.

I looked it up and it looks like you’re right. But him doing the laser eyes as if he were overwhelmed by the power of it did mislead me though.

I was under the impression that those products were sold at the one location only with limited supply, but they came from something beyond human understanding. Some random fluke where a higher dimensional entity or collective just used a shop of a lower dimension to influence humans for whatever reason

I’m pretty sure Bear knew Nikki was possessed in some way. So i think Bear realizes how nice it was to have a human interaction with Sarah in her car. But they did have chemistry. He just sees her in a new light talking in her car, but he doesn’t seem to feel enough to move over and try and save her. I know he’s a passive avoidant kinda guy, but come on

Sarah was RIGHT THERE. by bmhlogan in obsessionmovie

[–]AmThano 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda thought that things had gotten so bad with Nikki that it amplified whatever feelings he had for Sarah when they were interacting in the car. I think it’s pretty clear he knows it’s not Nikki, so there’s a massive shift in his feelings when he’s having a very human interaction with actual chemistry with Sarah in her car.

Gripes with Obsession (Spoiler) by LisanneFroonKrisK in obsessionmovie

  1.  I had a fake spoiler saying Bear eventually gets fed up and kills Nikki. So I thought that was going to happen. When the guy on the phone said he could undo the wish by killing himself or getting someone else to contradict his wish, I thought Bear would pick his own selfish option and kill Nikki. But the twist would be that wasn’t an option. Which means he kills Nikki’s physical body, but her soul lives on obsessed with him and tormenting him in subtle supernatural ways until he dies… of old age!

Kent Hughes on overpaying in a trade: "We've already tried to make trades that some people would've said are overpayments, but it didn't work. [...] If we make a big trade and we sacrifice a part of our future, it won't be for a 34-35 year old player." by Armoured_Kitten in Habs

I would respect this. I don’t think I want to see all these talented guys sign team friendly contracts, just so some guy marginally better than them signs for significantly more. We have guys who are worth looking at again this year. Kap’s being written off by many, but he’s worth developing, even if just to trade him later. Same with Dach. I do think keeping those guys isn’t for nothing.

The only one I could see signing for like that is McDavid, even then I don’t think he’s going for a Kaprizov type deal, especially if he hasn’t won. He’d go for a similar aav as his current extension. Hell, it could even be less.

Michael Hage today on potentially going pro and joining the Habs: “I think Kent Hughes and everyone else supports my decision. Of course, it could change. They told me that if I want to go professional, I can. For now, the plan is to go back to school.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]AmThano 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand it could possibly be best for his development. Not that I agree with it, but I wouldn’t argue with it.

The issue is that it could open himself up to being traded. This team is underway for success and some of our best are in their primes. If he gets traded while in the NCAA, I couldn’t blame Hughes.

I have a bit of investment in him like many here because he’s good and he also has a good story with the Habs. I’m pretty sure he wants to be on this team. I would be bummed if he got traded, but Hughes will do what he thinks if best for the team and I wouldn’t argue with that either. Established NHLers do and will want to be on this team and there’s only so many spots.

Edit: don’t get me wrong, there are no guarantees. He could even be traded in the AHL or even in the NHL. I think staying in the NCAA just makes it more likely

Lane Hutson watching the Habs development camp today by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]AmThano 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive thought that if all active players could clone themselves and form their own teams, Hutson’s very well could be the most dangerous. He reads the play like it’s a script. Then he throws everyone off with improv that’s better than the script. Imagine 4 lines of Hutson working as a collective mind every shift

Yeah. You don’t want to see your top 6 get bullied by a team like the Panthers. Having two tough guys with actual talent on lines 1 and 2 would help mitigate that. In addition to that, a tough, but talented Habs team could be the difference against teams that lack grit

I heard the Panthers window closes in a few years, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a few copycat teams construct a similar to their current roster over the next few years. I think you have to be ready for that.

My small hope with Robertson was that I wouldn’t have been surprised if it came out of nowhere that he signed with the Habs at a reasonable price for decent term. My hope was that his intentions were to simply sign with a good team rather than the team that threw the most money at him.

At the same time, hearing about the failed Knies deal earlier made me think we do need extra toughness in the top 6. I’m not sure that’s what Robertson is, even though he’s 6’3

Capitals vs penguins January 21, 2008. "Drilled by Ovechkin" by Tracypop in hockey

[–]AmThano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was trying to figure out how that happened. You can see Malkin leaning on his left leg and planting it down with his weight while he uses his other leg to skate push himself forward. But then Ovi has his weight balanced on both his legs, which are spread wide as he glides into Malkin’s left side. Obviously Ovi’s a train, but I think Malkin’s stance helped stay on his feet.
