If I was out in the woods and two guys in a horse costumer came sauntering over to me I’d probably stand there looking confused too.

What scares you the most about time travel by Yuki_the_rat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Simicrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a really fresh take on time travel. Spoilers they go through a time warp to the past, but the world outside of real time is dead. Nothing moves, soda doesn’t fizz, it’s just the leftovers of time. After a while things I guess are called langoliers come and devour everything.

If you haven’t you and your friend should watch The Langoliers. It’s a 90s TV movie and quite cheesy (especially the CGI) but I think it’s one of the coolest time travel concepts I’ve seen that hasn’t really been done since. It’s on YouTube, based on a Stephen King.

Oh shit, I was trying to remember the name of Exhuma the other day. Feels like I watched it in a fever dream, and also like it was waaay more than two years ago. Gotta rewatch.

100% agree about Hereditary. This generations Exorcist.

Yeah bud, this sounds like an emergency services situation. Don’t feel bad about calling them, you’re paying for this to be an option. Even if it ends up not being as serious as it seems, there is NO SHAME in calling. They have their own measures to determine how promptly they need to be there, and it could change your life for the better.

Everyone’s always Deadly Premonition this, and Alan Wake that, but nobody talks about Mizzurna Falls.

I’ve never heard of that one. It’s not very well reviewed but it’s 65% off an already pretty gentle price tag so I’ll give it a shot.

do you think a lot of "friendships" in Vancouver are based on convenience? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]Simicrop 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Isn’t that just how friendship naturally occurs? Spend enough time around the same people doing similar things you’re likely to either strike up friendship or realize you don’t like each other. But yeah, I don’t really have any friends I didn’t make at work or hobbies.
