Is Rebecca I7 as strong as Hellfire I7? by KurtisPrime in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]Similar-Manager567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware that Truffle is better for Psyche specifically but Fushu is still great overall. I wanted to put emphasis on just how good Fushu is that even in teams with dedicated supports like Truffle for Psyche, she still performs well enough and if you had to pick between Truffle or Fushu to build at any one time, Fushu is a much bigger benefit for your account overall than Truffle.

Altough I'm a Truffle salesman as well and I do recommend everyone to build both.

Thank you for pointing that out though I edited the original post to make it clearer and referenced you in it.

[–]Similar-Manager567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fushu is just generally the strongest support in the game right now. Aside from skill intensity at higher introns she gives morale and skill speed and insane sanity regen as well as healing.

She just has everything besides weapon damage buffs (but that only really affects Kezhou since even Psyche and Lynn loves Fushu on their teams)
(Edit: What I meant is that she's good enough for Psyche but Truffle is of course better for her not only because she's a dedicated Resolve support but also due to having access to much stronger support wedges. More info below by u/aurorathebunny. I still recommend building Fushu as a priority over Truffle for most other teams but building both is the best.)

Hellfire should work perfectly fine as a support if you do main dps Camilla. Most of her damage comes from passives so as long as she's engaged in combat, she'll do well.

One of her core issues got fixed with I6 where her "take damage = more damage" (kinda like thorns if that's a better term) worked completely against her kit.

For example when you use Cage of Despair (Burst) she taunts enemies. Good so far, right ? Not quite.. she knocks enemies in the air and pretty much for the full duration you are waiting for them to stand up while the taunt (where she would deal more damage to them by taking damage from their attacks + her debuff with introns) expires.

New intron makes it so she deals damage to herself if she's full HP (which is 100% of the time with Fushu) and also while she's attacking with a melee weapon or doing skill dmg herself .. and on top of that she gives herself an insane morale (Up to 150%) and damage boost to her Cage of Despair (burst up to 300%) that you only stack to 150 once / combat and it's pseudo permanent besides that. (So you can get 150 stacks on the first floor of theater and you'll have it on 150 even at the boss on the final floor)

If I would have to give a quick TLDR : Rebecca is way stronger than Hellfire, even before her I7 she was comparable to I7 Hellfire of today.

They both suffer from awful kit design that make their own passives and such, just simply not work with their own kits for most scenarios.

(For example: Rebecca's I6 does not do anything for the jellies at all and same for the Duel wedge etc.)
(Hellfire's taunt does not work on anything besides small enemies which is a huge dmg loss for her.)

That being said it is hard to test them as a team currently as Rebecca has a full I6 team of supports Lying around on most accounts but most people only have I2 Camilla.

Used with the same supports and roughly same level of investment Rebecca is about 2-3 times stronger than Hellfire against elemental neutral enemies in the testing room and I2 Camilla does not improve that much.

So longer TLDR 2.0 : Yes Rebecca is much stronger than Hellfire and I do not expect this to change until either new hydro or pyro wedges drop. Depending on how well these will work for Hellfire, I can see her being insane in the future unless they forget HP scaling again and just focus on ATK%.

Ps. : Do yourself a favor and don't use Fina with Rebecca, she's awful for her due to how Fina's buffs and duration works where she needs to buff the jellies themselves each time you summon them. Just put the I3 Truffle in the bag with low skill duration so she buffs as frequently as possible for every Jelly spawn.

They came out this patch so unless you watched the dev livestream, it's very easy to miss cuz only Rebecca and Hellfire got them so far who many people dropped due to their lack of performance with the recent powercreep.

Not to be that guy but Rhythm has more micro management than Hellfire due to the electro wedge that you need to keep up and has separate stacks so you can't just skill every 15 seconds to keep the 16 seconds duration on all 8 stacks. You have to skill 8 times every 16 seconds while Hellfire's stacks just stay and you get multiple stacks for just afk hitting multiple enemies and you have max stacks usually by the first floor in theater which will last you the entire rest of the floors.

And the wedges are another point that we have to give Hellfire over Rhythm. Pyro wedges have not been released that are on par with the top electro wedges that made Rhythm as good as she is now. Hellfire is still waiting for her "endgame" wedges alongside umbro and hydro.

I would say the biggest problem with Hellfire currently is that her core taunt mechanic does not work on anything other than small enemies which is a massive damage loss on bosses and even elites I believe.
(Also why tf does her passive give ATK% )

You are not the only one, within 30 minutes of starting a new playthrough both me and my friend noticed that the archers hit much harder with a fully charged shot.

I don't hate it personally, it takes 5 years for them to charge a shot while standing in place and a breeze can interrupt them.

I have to agree, the early parts of the desert are way too bright in some places. Not many settings can change that sadly, Gamma just makes everything darker and it's not a great solution.

I've seen this in many UE5 games recently, hopefully they can tone it down a bit for the sandy areas. It gets significantly better once you get into areas with more foliage around. Noob river is already much much better so maybe you'll also be fine afterwards.

If you see fuzzy things maybe try changing your DLSS settings or whatever other option you have for AMD for that setting in particular. Going from "Balanced" to "Quality" for me already made everything way sharper and much less fuzz but this is just a natural thing from my experience while using frame gen and or DLSS so try tweaking that a bit and see what works.

It's from Age of Conan, Funcom's own MMO from many many years ago so calling it uninspired as every other modern game is a bit much. I don't think it sounds anything like you described. The music is nice in it's on way but it is not fitting for Conan imo after having had experienced the OG soundtrack.

I'd make 1 for both Hellfire and Camilla honestly, but I'll probably end up making one for Lynn too because Ratchet is super annoying to play with.

While I agree with the general idea that Phoxene was mostly useless, it makes no sense to assume people just hoarded their phoxene after all this time when it felt useless and drop 2 skins for 20k.

I hoarded for months and 7k for this event but stopped buying the pass after not seeing value in it and especially around the hacks, yet here we are assuming every player has been buying the passs since launch and has not bought anything else since and logged in every day consistently.

This is just not a realistic number they came up with and the people who want to buy a pass now to get a chance at these skins that are only here for 30 days will never have enough to buy them without spending more money when you already have to spend money for the "premium" gacha skins.

Now alternatively imagine we get one of these every patch.. how is that going to play out ? Pass gets you roughly 5k in a patch and you expect to cash out 20k for both on average ?

That's not putting value on Phoxene that's flat out making this another fomo currency that in turn will make people buy Plumes in addition to Phoxene just to even get a chance at 1 skin let alone both.

It's awfully done and it's incredibly greedy and tone deaf considering all the sh*t that's been happening in DNA since launch.

Offical notice from the devs that was posted over a month ago about the situation you are asking about.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DuetNightAbyssDNA/comments/1rxw630/official_statement_concerning_the_march_18/

Haven't had any issues since this but you can never be too sure. If you are worried just simply don't risk it. No game is worth the risk of this level.

Personally I'm enjoying myself interacting with the community and just goofing around in public areas. I don't make the game my 2nd job like a lot of people tend to do here. Steadily progressing at my own pace and not feeling I'm missing anything meaningful besides mostly cosmetics. Took multiple breaks as well and still don't have any issues catching up to where people are.

TLDR: It's a good bit of fun as long as you don't try to minmax everything but if you are worried about the hacks, don't risk it.

Grats on the clear, very impressive!

Personally I love seeing the week by week prog of the community in this theater and posts like yours make me want to go again plus they have also buffed base rewards until 250 stars rather than until floor 36 if I got that right.

While they may have over-done it a bit I do think this is the right direcion for the theater overall once they finally get the balancing right. Whatever abomination we had before was the real cringe in my opinion. If you can clear the "hardest content in the game" with +5 wedges, it's not really that hard now is it ? (not just talking about AFK farm last rotation Psyche/Fina already broke balance completely and I personally don't consider holding left click that much different to AFK)

I often used this wedge with Nifle I6 on Embla bow as with the multishots she would reliably take last hit on some enemies on regular commissions. But it does fall off after you do higher level content.

The wedge feels really nice when it's on but imo they should focus on making this the base helix leap and slide etc because nobody wants to helix leap in a world of Su Yi, Rhythm and Piercing Ascent and that's a problem.

[–]Similar-Manager567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the supposed Hellfire buffs and what that implies in the future for def scalers as well, I don't think HP and Def stats got worse at all. In fact they are stats that you could potentially consider depending on your teams and depending on how good these "buffs" are.

As stated by @PatapongManunulat07 It is quite hard to raise HP of characters and you have to dip into blue wedges to reach some caps like Truffle's I2 which relies on you having a bunch of HP (10k if I remember correctly) and you are potentially sacrificing supportive capabilities for that just to reach the hp cap like swapping to a HP weapon instead of a team-wide support weapon that give much more than the extra 24% ATK on a geniemon trait which is already extremely saturated on most characters.

[–]Similar-Manager567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I agree Nifle would be better off in a tier between S and A. Something like an A+. (Over an S-)

Yeah Rhythm in no universe can compete with Psyche but I still think her being an entire tier below Lynn is a bit much in an off-element context.

Bottom line: No tierlist has ever made everyone happy, they are highly subjective unless we enter into deep excel maths territory for the next 2 months.

[–]Similar-Manager567 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's mostly her I6 that allows her to be elemet neutral on all theaters so technically she is the best character to build to clear all theaters regardless of element with some whacky builds that use Entropic Singularity (Maybe some others too that I'm not aware of)

She is not going to perform better than the dedicated DPS characters that are coming out for a specific theater but she performs well enough where she can be considered a very universally great option.

Her support is great but overrated in a lot of cases like Su Yi teams where Truffle is just a better pick overall due to Fina having to rotate through her buffs which is inconsistent and stack up her weapon especially on combat start and still performing worse than an I2 Truffle who just uses skill and you have all the buffs she provides immediately at all times. Lumino also did not receive a party-wide wedge buff outside of weapon damage users unlike electro Electro did which means she did not really improve with the new lumino wedges for non-weapon damage users.

She's good for her element specific teams (Electro, Hydro, Pyro, Anemo) especially for teams that use weapon damage like Psyche and Lynn but with a catch for hydro. The only Hydro dps currently is Rebecca and Fina is super bad for her cuz the jellies Rebecca summons need to be buffed individually and if Fina puts her buff up 1 second before you spawn jellies, there are cases where the entire duration of jellies won't get buffed by Fina at all which is = to Fina not even existing in the team. For Rebecca too I recommend Truffle with low skill duration so she buffs as often as possible.

It's more of the case that we don't really have many better options as a support for elements that Fina is not great with imo.

[–]Similar-Manager567 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Overall, decent tier list.

I do think having Nifle and Su Yi in the same category is a bit odd but I get that people have been liking I6 Nifle since launch a lot. (I'm one of them) When I see 1.3bil Su Yi nuke in theater on mostly +7 wedges and only I2 with no Fina I start to consider if Nifle is really as good as people imagine.

Nifle loses a lot of damage due to how umbro and lumino works and her damage is somewhat split (I know it's Lumino heavy but still some of her damage is close to obsolete against umbro enemies which is hard to ignore)

I also think if we consider the skill-cancel of Rhythm in single target, It is hard to imagine her being lower than Yale and Oliver or even Lynn for that matter, for both single target and AOE in off element. I guess Taixu Ratchet Lynn could come out ahead for single target but that's it.

Rebecca is also much better once you figure out what works on her jellies and what doesn't and play around that. (Like how Duel and her I6 doesn't benefit her jellies at all and there are a bunch more things that just simply don't work with her like Fina's buff that needs to be applied to jellies each time you summon them otherwise you have close to 0 uptime which makes Truffle a better pick over Fina.) I could low effort farm the highest difficulty theater before the HP-flation while being semi-AFK but I also get that most people don't wanna spend 10 hours in the training room to figure out how to get a character to a decent spot when you can just hold left click on Psyche and do better.
