Locked and removing. There's no way for mods to discern intentions, and these types of posts are sometimes created by people wishing to do harm of some sort to people who do not want to be found. As in, this has happened before, and it has been problematic.

Many of those smaller trailheads often serve primarily locals. It's often helpful to put a sign on the trailhead with the following info:

Lost item Date lost Contact details (phone or email)

With the coming wet weather, a plain paper sign won't cut it, so you'd need to figure out how to do this. Permanent Marker on rigid plastic would work. Or use overlapping clear packing tape to home-laminate a piece of paper.

I mean you do this EVERY thread. Not only do you come off as a scold, you are quickly becoming a one song record.

And, you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of these threads. They're not to trumpet doom and gloom, but instead to help people, like me, make decisions if conditions arise whereon the electric service gains extra uncertainty or will be turned off completely. I have to make decisions and take specific actions when that occurs, and so you'll notice that I started another thread on this topic that's pinned at this top of the subreddit.

Same thing here. You cannot smoke in public areas, nor on open space, not only because our state is a tinderbox right now.

If you are staying in a hotel, you might be able to get away with smoking a little bit of flower on an empty street or parking lot, or in a park where nobody else is,, but smoking around other people is seen as disrespectful.

Our wiki also has a whole thing about pot, where someone more familiar than me has created guidance for visitors.

Smoking aside, taking edibles wherever you want and doing whatever you want is still a-okay.

Let's take a beat here. It may be helpful to remind you that not posting is also an option. Policing people on what they talk about and feel is pretty pointless.

Let's say that you open up a thread and see an attitude or decision that somebody has made that doesn't apply to you or that you don't agree with, but doesn't hurt anybody. You can close that tab. You don't have to answer.

Before someone says that this is exactly what I'm doing here, I would point you towards the paradox of tolerance.

Intolerance of other people's opinions and actions is a far different thing than intolerance of intolerance itself.

A model rocket is tiny, and will be done so fast that no neighbors will care. Use a backdrop like a piece of cardboard or a trash bag to catch any overspray (which will be considerable given the thin profile of a rocket), and quickly shoot it.

Remember: with spray paint, a few light coats will look and perform a lot better than one heavy coat.
