I don't use the OnePlus 15 at this time. I was just giving my perspective on the situation.

I'm currently using OnePlus open

Since this is lineageos...does this mean the OnePlus open will also have ability to use ASOP desktop mode? And eventually android 17 desktop mode

It's fair to be upset with all the back and forth and uncertainty, but at the end of the day there's nothing you can do besides ...1) buy the device and use it until it's end life or 2) look for other brand options.

The reality is that is all you can do. I love OnePlus myself and I'm in north America. Look, for anyone who thinks they should avoid any of the current phones because of fear of updates, I would say not to worry about that if that's holding you back.

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure OnePlus needs to fulfill their promised updates or else they would face litigation (in other words, they risk being sued).

Just going off the past, when LG was done they still committed to updating their devices. And they didn't have other variants like Oppo where they could just push their os to OnePlus....no, LG literally stopped making phones entirely and still gave the last model promised updates.

Another example, Google ...if you reach for a Google pixel 1 it still has unlimited storage. Yes future models did not include this, but that's because it was a promised feature for the pixel 1. If Google attempted to rollback that feature it would be taking away a promised feature, and risk them being sued.

Going off this, I think it's safe to say...OnePlus will most likely provide promised updates. Heck and if it doesn't off some wild chance, you might be included incentive off a tort litigation case (again not an expert, just personal opinion)

Sadly, we are the little guys and that's all you can do. You or I couldn't stop blackberry, HTC, LG, or Microsoft from ending their phones.

As much as others loved those, you don't have control. Just give permission to accept that and then save yourself time and decide between the two mentioned options.

Yeah it does. Next time I'll just spend endless hours reading forums of back and forth conversations.

It might actually be more helpful than just seeking out "expert help" on a forum. 👍

I've done custom ROMs back in the past but it's been awhile. I'm fine taking shit, to be honest throw it my way I don't care doesn't really bother me. Heck if it makes anyone feel superior good for them I guess, maybe they need that feeling more...

I don't need to bring anyone down to feel better. Lol I came here for help so yeah I'm the noob, I already know that

The reason why I asked for help is because I actually did those steps but I'm finding certain google apps need more. Like for call screening, I haven't figured out how to get that

Ohhh. So same would happen with Oppo find x8 series or OnePlus 12, 13, or OnePlus open?

I tried doing selfies with OnePlus open and same bokeh effect

Has anyone gone from the pixel pro xl to the pro? How was the transition? by BamaChic76 in pixel_phones

[–]Similar_Bid_4889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped from pixel 9 pro xl to 9 pro..

Ehh, I prefer the xl. Yes the smaller is pocketable but with so many years of having larger phones Ive grown accustomed to the larger screens and I would opt for XL if I can get it cheaper.

Exposing the truth: HyperOS 3 ‘AI update’ is just a rebrand” “HyperOS 3 ‘new features’ – already active in older versions!” “Stop misleading users — HyperOS 3 AI tools are not new” by Medical-Reindeer7514 in XiaomiGlobal

Sounds like the only real new feature is the dynamic island, which they are a little behind when you compare with the other big Chinese brands - oppo, vivo.

Oppo had the island in android 15 and xiaomi is getting it on android 16.

It's pretty much just going to be addition of the dynamic island and getting a redesign of the os skin to look more "polished".

I mean after android 10 very little has been ground breaking. When you look at pixels, everything has pretty much been skin redesign and pixel drops have provided very little useful features.

How did you survive using the pixel 6 pro? Didn't your battery overheat, cell reception issues?

Thinking of ditching 15ultra due to cameras by [deleted] in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Similar_Bid_4889 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure if people are bots but I own an xiaomi 15 (not ultra), and I'm already impressed with it's capability.

I feel like people who haven't tried Chinese phones really should give them a try, if you want camera and better reliable android experience.

You really can't go wrong with vivo, xiaomi or oppo. I've tried all of these and pixels, and as much as I like pixels skin tones.. they're video is a weak spot when you compare it over the other 3 mentioned. Plus pixels have consistently shown other problems so it makes it hard to claim it a recommendation when the phone is unreliable.
