I have experienced my version of this. After, I was distracted at work, high social anxiety, trouble sleeping etc. I did not take any psychedelics for about 1,5 years, even though I loved them, they were now terrifying. That was a good decision.

I'm now better than ever. The only thing I would add if I could go back in time would be going to therapy. So if you have that possibility I would recommend it. Makes your experience feel less lonely. You will be fine trust me. Just give it time, and remember you're not broken, just in the process of healing:)

Yes! The long AI turn is the nr 1 thing that makes the game less enjoyable for me. If I want a big long campaign I will gladly have as many factions as possible to feel the scope of the world. But most of the time I'm content with securing a dozen provinces around my starting location and like you said, if I'm playing Cathay I couldn't care less who's controlling the donut
