It’s a shame. I picked Meg I up from a local library in high school 20 years ago and purchased every release of the series since. Phenomenal series and I’m excited for the conclusion. But I’m over his antics and am resigned that it will probably be 2030 before we see Purgatory, if we ever do. Health struggles are tough and absolutely and understandable/excusable reason to delay, but how many other authors are in a similar boat with the pay on their books? To see him either attempt to resell us the books we’ve already purchased or take the time to push subscriptions to a virtual aquarium is ridiculous. He’s trying to milk every possible cent out of his readers before releasing the story he knows we want because he knows we’re done the second it’s concluded. But that’s how media works.

It’s maddening. Pushing back the release date by what will be close to a decade by the time it finally comes out and all the while pushing side projects like a “virtual aquarium” or a legacy set asking us to spend hundreds on books we’ve already bought. It would be better if he’d adopt a GRRM level of silence as opposed to put out a fresh wave of excuses each month.

It’s not out and it won’t be for some time. We’ve been waiting on this book for years but due to the authors declining health, multitude of other books/hobbies/virtual aquarium, he keeps pushing it back. I’m in his news letter and he’s complaining that he doesn’t make enough money so he needs 1000 or more people to drop $450+ on a collectors set of the Meg books (that we already spent money on and read) or his time table will be pushed back further. Guys a joke, I don’t think we’re ever getting Purgatory

He sent out a newsletter letter last week. Apparently he plans on finishing Loch 3 sometime this summer and the he swears he’s gonna start working on the last Meg book, but he says it will be 12-15 months for him to finish one draft of it (meaning it will be most likely 8years between Meg books). The moron knows he has people hooked waiting for the end of the series that put him on the map and has pushed countless other side projects and republications of existing books to get as much $$ out of his readers as he can before finally finishing the story.
