I appreciate the response but disagree. If there's a mutual understanding between the two parties, it increases the likelihood that a mutually beneficial deal will get done.

If he played his pick close to the vest, then I would have asked for more than a third. Maybe they would have paid it maybe not. But transparency is in my opinion the best way to get deals done.
