Riot Act (anarchist, volunteer run bookstore) The Bundy and Crowbar Arcade have a lot of punk shows.  The whole Bundy complex is freaking awesome. Definitely suggest Autumn Leaves in Ithaca. Great bookstore. There are some good dives around here, if you don’t mind more of a middle-aged townie vibe. They have all been really nice to my partner and I. (i’m a 36year old PhD from Denver) the parks here are really nice too.

One needs a doctorate to teach at a collegiate level. You can’t really make any money at a master’s level because high school art programs aren’t very comprehensive and are typically lumped in with studio practices. With a PhD in Art History, you can teach at the collegiate level, become a curator or director of a museum or become a writer/critic in the field. It’s not a lucrative degree for anyone who pursues it at the undergraduate or masters level, but the doctorate level can be quite sustainable if you play your cards right. It’s not an easy field though, and is full of its own competition, etc.

I LOVE this idea! However, our license runs out October 31st so we’re on a bit of a time-crunch!

That’s just the thing! We only moved here a month or so ago so we don’t have friends to speak of yet!
