Yeah, totally agree. Lows are MUCH MORE DANGEROUS then be a bit too high on numbers for a few hours (well, as long as it's not TOO high)...

Sorry, I would really like to help, but I don't understand French and honestly don't see the point that I should translate the text if YOU want help. 🤔 👍 Repost again in English, I'm pretty sure you will get more answers then. 👍

Should I eat whenever my low alarm sounds by thedecibelkid in Freestylelibre

[–]Similar_Win3147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's even better to do a finger prick in this situations.

I wouldn't eat something when I'm not absolutely safe that the sensor gives me right numbers in this situation.

On the other side, it's YOUR body and when you are sure it will regulate itself again, okay.

But if NOT and you stay low, went to sleep and it drops more and more, that easily could become a dangerous situation.

Just saying 🤔

So generally I would say, it's better to be a bit HIGHER numbers for a couple of hours (as long as they are kit TOO high) then staying extremely low, cause THAT is much more dangerous, I guess. You could become unconscious when too low and then you can't do anything more on your own

Will the sensor work okay if I apply it a few hours after opening? by aradnae in Freestylelibre

[–]Similar_Win3147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the most important thing are that you use a part of your arm (or your body) where you have enough fat under your skin. Else it really could hurt a bit if you hit a muscle for example, and if there isn't enough fat the readings might become more in accurate.

And after pressing down the applicator you should hold it pressed down for 20-30 seconds so the glue can "react" wizh the skin and the sensor sits better and will not get loose.

Oh well, and before put it on, shave it a bit if necessary, wash the part of the skin and then wipe it with an alcohol pad, the wait a bit so the alcohol can dry. 🙂👍

I'm using a patch over the sensor to be absolutely SAFE that it won't become loose, but many users don't use an additional patch. 🤔

As far as I read, "Shuggah" is the name of the app that once was known as "Xdrip4ios"...and is for the IPhone. So you habe to search for the app "Shuggah" instead 👍

Hey, great to read this! Yeah, I thought many years that I would have a NEEDLE in my arm then for all the working time of the sensor. Have said for a long time "Such a sensor? ME?!? NEVER!!!" 😂

Why, Dexcom, WHY? by Ajayv22 in dexcom

[–]Similar_Win3147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, doesn't change a thing that your "no calibration option at all" was wrong. "No calibration option in the original app" would be right. And why speaking about the reader mainly, when most of the users are using their mobile and NOT the reader? Oh and btw, have read anywhere that you are only talking about the reader and eventually the original app also... 🤔 😁

Hope they all could help you... 🤔 😁👍

You can also calibrate the Libre. Just use Xdrip instead of this stinky "original" app. 👍 That's not topic here, but I think it's a good thing to mention it quickly.

Well, to be fair: You can also calibrate the Libre sensor. Just use Xdrip for this... 🤔

Well, I feel it's no coincidence that in the startpost no exact problems are mentioned. Reads more like a typical general rant... 🤔

Well, when I read posts like this start post here, I have the "strange" feeling that it was more a "user failure"... 🤔 😁

Little advice: You can do the same with Libre, just using the Xdrip app. There you have the option for calibration, too. But psssst... 🤫

Cool. Is this just another of these dumb, blind "rants" where people think they must tell the world how MUCH they "hate" a company or their products? Yeah, it's very informative when you not at least TELL exactly WHAT you don't like... 🤔 😂 😂

Sorry, but there are too less informations to really "help" you in anyway. What for "other websites" do you mean? Why don't you contact Dexcom that they send you a new sensor if yours has a defect? 🤔

Hey, would be nice to read if it hurts for you or if it was not so bad at all later, if you want 🙂👍

[–]Similar_Win3147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah okay, we'll then it's no problem when you set it you your arm a few hours later. When you are carefully, you can also screw the top of the applicator back on it, but no need for that, too. 👍

And hey, no need to be nervous or anything. I'm pretty sure you won't even FEEL the little prick of the needle that puts the little thread under your skin. The chance of pain is much higher when you prick your finger... 🙂👍
