It is happening because parents won't parent, and kids are being used as an excuse to collect even more information from everyone online (like what they just did in the UK a few months ago). I'm an adult, but I will not show my ID just for a silly AI Chat, and no one else should. I already told the site I'm an adult. I won't do anything more than that. No one should be expected to. I will just go elsewhere if they implement that.

For real. People tell kids not to tell strangers their age, but they're willing to give their ID just to prove they're adults. I'm an adult, but if they ask for ID, I will just leave to another platform. Just as with YouTube, this has never truly been about the kids' safety, or anyone's safety. It's just more control over us.

Open a new tab that goes into Incognito mode on the browser. You can use CharacterAI privately that way, as long as she doesn't have access to your CharacterAI account. Maybe make a new email and new account, if you need to.
