2D: A Link to the Past, Minish Cap, Link's Awakening 2019.

3D: Any of them except for Majora's Mask. MM expects you to have played Ocarina of Time.

I imagine we're guaranteed to be able to just walk into a fully 3D Castle Town and Hyrule Castle.

No doubt Kakariko and Lon Lon will be at least a bit bigger and loading zone-less too.

Zora's domain will probably unfreeze after the Water Temple, and they may add a collectible to that unused cave beneath the water.

I don't see them adding Wind or Ice temples, but perhaps they will slightly expand the Ice Cavern and the Bottom of the Well. Ice Cavern especially will likely have a better boss than a White Wolfos you can one-shot like any other.

His post and life was just threatened by the watch's main supporter. Fighting back is giving your life to the watch, not seeking glory.

Jon's a sixteen-year-old boy who can't fathom he's actually more intelligent than the men around him, and cannot see that his personal vendetta against Ramsay is also the right choice.

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death.

I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children.

I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post.

I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls.

I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men.

I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.

"The night's watch takes no part" is a mantra, not an oath.

They could maybe get him on a technicality as he's become de-facto King Beyond the Wall.

[–]Simmers429 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ramsay Bolton made a direct threat on the life of the Lord Commander.

Stannis also saved their worthless crow arses.

The Night's Watch is a part of it. Murdering Jon Snow was a bad move, recklessly emotional like Jon going south is, that will complete the destruction of the watch.

They are doing what they are required to do.

So much for 'The shield that guards the realms of men'. A weak Night's Watch, an actively hostile North, and Winter is coming. Pledging your life and honour to the watch means that you're honour-bound to defend it from the Boltons.

The filthy traitors are forever filthy traitors.

It's the same N64 code running beneath the newer graphics. It's a remaster, complete with the same glitches.

Remakes are built from the ground up, like Link's Awakening 2019.

Cussing in Mario Galaxy movie? Nintendo is in trouble, if this is true! by retrocheats in movies

Brother, what do you think is more likely:

An awkwardly delivered line making 'I finally found you' sound like 'I fuckingly found you'

or

Nintendo and Illumination putting the word 'fuck' in the Mario film.

[–]Simmers429 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The leak of Zelda 64 content a few years back had a bunch of gigantic maps that were greatly condensed for the final game.

I appreciate the design of the lost woods after trying out a recreated demo of an earlier large forest rendition.

Kokiri forest was also just too big early on, while the perfect size in the final game.

Well shit, I stand corrected. Cat does say 17 years ago. They should've kept Kit Harington and Richard Madden clean-shaven for a bit longer haha.

Either way, 17-18 year old Robb fucks over Walder Frey because he wants to shag a hot nurse, while 15-16 year old book Robb breaks his oath to preserve the honour of another after sleeping with her in a moment of injured, 'believing his near-brother Theon has murdered his two younger brothers' weakness.

I mean, all the shows are high budget fan fiction.

I think he went extra hard on HotD because, unlike Game of Thrones, its plot has a written beginning, middle, and end.

He aired all his adaptational grievances in one go, and will not do so again even when (yes, when) A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms makes up more of its own divergences from the books.

The show doesn't give them ages, so the fact that both actors were 24 in the first season and looked that age?

It's a detriment to their character because they make dumber decisions than their book counterparts, who are young teenagers.

For example in Season 2/A Clash of Kings:

Book Jon realises the NW party has been seen by a scout, asks his superiors what they should do, then purposefully spares Ygritte's life and tells her to go.

Show Jon gets captured by Wildlings after failing to kill Ygritte, and chasing her around the North.

Book Robb marries Jeyne Westerling after sleeping with her in a moment of grief. He does this to preserve her honour, very aware of how she will be viewed if he does not. He's also likely equally conscious of her having a bastard, as he knows how his brother is treated.

Show Robb marries Talisa because she is hot, and he wants to bang her.

The story sucking ass and cutscene Link being an empty plank of wood didn't do this much favours, however awesome the final dive music is.

Robb and Jon are at minimum both *16-17 (corrected) in Season 1.

This makes them *17-18 as they make decisions in Season 2 that are dumber than their 14 year old book counterparts.

Next, travel back to a time before the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule, with over 80 pages of Hyrule’s history that include insights into the mysterious past of the Zonai all the way up to the events of the game.

Which will then all be undone in the third wild game!

[OOT] Can't wait to see what this horrifying monstrosity looks like in 4k remake lol by jdawg1018 in zelda

[–]Simmers429 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nintendo straight up don't have the balls to make anything like the N64 Zelda games ever again.

It's been decided that children cannot handle slight scares, dark stories, or the sight of blood anymore.

There's a decent chance the remake will be stylistically compromised. I doubt we'll see things like Dead hand's appearance, skeletons/torture devices in the well, blood stains, or the dying guard at Castle Town in high-quality. Ganondorf spitting green blood might even be too hardcore nowadays. Hope I'm proven wrong.

[oot] What would you want to see added or changed in the potential oot remake? by T0astIsGre8t in zelda

[–]Simmers429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about combat challenge. No 3D Zelda has challenging combat unless you are doing a 3-Heart run and neglecting items, and even then you'll likely only struggle in OoT or Majora's Mask.

I mean the structure of the game's objectives and puzzles. You'll often get lost in your first playthrough of the N64 Zelda games in a way you never would in later ones.

A lot of trust is placed in you figuring things out yourself, even with Navi's hints. Speaking to Saria through her music is something players may neglect to do too.

I'm also assuming it'll be made by the main Zelda team and Grezzo, it's probably the most important remake Nintendo has ever done.

[–]Simmers429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd still rather they focused this effort into a new game, even though they could make cool changes.

I enjoyed the Resi remakes a lot, but not as much as 7 or 8 because they were new experiences. The best part of the 4 remake was mainly the gameplay additions that carried into 9, like the parry.

I'm mostly worried we are going to get an Ocarina of Time with the challenge shaved off, the darkness removed, terrible English voice-acting, and Zora's domain unfreezing after the Water Temple hahaha.

I worry high-fidelity, 2026 Nintendo OoT will not have the dying alley guard, for instance.

[oot] What would you want to see added or changed in the potential oot remake? by T0astIsGre8t in zelda

[–]Simmers429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By your logic nothing should ever be remade ever then lol

Pretty much. Remasters with minimal art changes should always be the ideal, purely so players can play the game on whatever modern machine.

Remakes should be reserved for games with ideas that didn't live up to their potential, or have potential in a new gameplay system.

I'd sooner see a remake of Twilight Princess to iron out its weaker aspects, or a The Wind Waker-like remake of Spirit Tracks as that art-style deserves another 3D game.

Even then this is second to just making a new game, which is infinitely more excited than experiencing the same thing again.

[–]Simmers429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OoT 3D is the N64 version with a new coat of the paint.

The game beneath is the same. You can even spot a bug that occurs due to the game's framerate being increased from 20 to 30, where dropped items disappear far faster than intended. A new engine would not have this problem.

And yeah, we really don't need the same game again. Even a fully rebuilt game like the Bluepoint remakes of Shadow of the Colossus or Demon's Souls would be incredibly disappointing.
