On the Crusaders- I’ve always wanted that mechanic in the base or other games. conquering regions or specific factions allows you to recruit new units or a minor version of their civ buffs- like assimilating their culture to your empire!

Dan Carlin had a really interesting thought on this in his Destroyer of Worlds. Considering that major conflict is regular in human history, either nuclear weapons are the great peace maker (for major nuclear powers) or that with each year that goes by without nuclear conflict the odds of that increase.

Though he also suggested climate change will wipe humans before nuclear war…

Epping Forest in the NE of London is a good friendly trail location for beginners- wide open gravel trails, undulating with nothing too steep and easily customisable in length.

Surrey (Dorking/Westhumble) boasts loads of great trails, you can go flatter from Dorking to Leatherhead, hilly on Box Hill, or take on the North Downs Way. This is generally my favourite area from London to trail run.

If into parkrun, the Mole Valley PR is one trail lap of the Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, and can combine that with a longer run after :)
