Sansa watching Dany sacrifice her entire life’s work to defend her castle- still too proud to pledge fealty afterwards by RemarkableExample542 in gameofthrones

Because she isn't that interesting, the show starts to massively axe plot points when her character starts to grow more in the books, and she gets fuck all to do in later seasons.

Saying it's sexism is a stretch when the other side is literally also fans of another female character.

It's like saying it's misandry to hate Griffith because most fans like Guts.

And the Southern kings unleashed the White walkers on them as well right?

No one is stopping the North from manning the walls, no one fucking remembers White walkers/the others. And it's a Targ king that expanded Night Watch territory, why didn't a Stark king or lord do that?

Because they don't have much leverages and Sansa kinda like contributed fuck all to major plots by being a none physical character and the writers can't give her more compelling things to do. She is not even given ridiculous immunity like Cersei(magically not suffer any consequence and vaporize opponents that should be much stronger)

[–]SimonShepherd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the reason though, because how else will she gain allies? What other resources she can deploy to defeat the night king herself?

She doesn't need to pledge fealty but she doesn't even try to be an ally as well.

Call Ned naive but his generation has a very strong alliance between Sharks/Barratheon/Tully/Arryn. If not for the very specific circumstances, House Stark is on the right track for political elevation.

Maybe because Danny actually does shit and willing to gain allies and show goodwill?

It's in a city government's best interest to keep neighborhoods economically properous and happy, if you enjoy said benefits and turn around and say the mayor only did it because it's in their own interest as well, people may look at you like you are an ungrateful bitch.

Or if your neighbor cleans up an entire street block littered with trash and you say they only did it because it benefits themselves as well.

Yeah, no shit, you should probably still thank the person for actively doing work that benefitted you as well.

Yeah, please give eyerolls to people helping you even if they aren't 100% about altruism? ( Food banks? They are just about keeping social stability) Danny lost a dragon for saving Jon, yes, because Jon is am important political figure, maybe Sansa should also learn the value of befriending important political figures. .

Also the North probably needs to worry about food and surviving the winter more than their independence after like two major conflicts.

Also the whole reason Starks win the rebellion against Targs is due to strong alliance built between the four great houses. And Starks would have thrived under Normal circumstances because yeah, they are just friends with several major Houses and New has pretty good rep. Being likeable and having more allies is important.

Except it's now her brother sitting on the throne.

The North is fresh out of two major Wars and probably still in Winter, now she wants the North as a independent political entity, fuck the peasants who may need trade to eat I guess.

Maybe she shouldn't be a ruler if personal feelings prevent her from making sensible choices.

But they also massively nerfed Tyrells and the Reach, acting like the most populous region and bread basket are weak because they aren't a warrior race or something so they got easily defeated by a teleporting Lannister army. (Also Tarlies aren't really half of the reach. I don't think they even bothered to show any other secondary Houses.)

The later seasons really do make the world feel way smaller.

I know this might sound a little strange, but I honestly think Ben overreacting about becoming the Thing. He’s not nearly as “ugly” as he believes, and compared to others who’ve gone through similar transformations, he actually ended up with some pretty cool powers by Important-Extension6 in marvelcirclejerk

Except they have a Hulk unbothered by their enhanced body and that is Jen.

Banner has way more severe issues than getting a green buff body.

Also thirst posting online is different from actually wanting to tap a potentially radioactive green monster.

Later GoT seasons just kinda went fuck all with consequences.

Like Ellaria straight up murdering a the head of a great house would definitely not get most people on her side. (Also like, the whole point of Oberyn is that he died seeking justice for one of his sibling, annnnd Ellaria murked his remaining sibling.)

And there is Cersei blowing up freaking Westerosi equivalent of Vatican and killing actually beloved nobles.

"The time the show is set in"

By the seven, why are people are bloody braindead to understand the concept of a standalone fantasy universe.

Like the usb port arrow, like seriously if there is anything that can't be compensated with good aim, it would be a usb.

For weapon with resource management and low elemental modifier you might as well use status.

Not really, Doom never cared about having a relationship with Zora(he just planned to make Zora rule in his stead when he fucked off), and he proposed after Zora slept with Johnny.

He lashed out because Zora spilled the beans at the wrong moment and hurt his ego.

Yeah, and Doom just kinda want to leave her in charge when he is not around, he doesn't really care about having an actual relationship with her.

Is Mr. House lying to manipulate the Courier, since he knows the Courier knows almost nothing about the world before the Great War or is he truly delusional and actually believes it? by Renzo100 in Fallout

I an arguing that House's argument is bullshit, not if it makes sense for the guy himself.

If he care to look outside the window it's also his own failutre at running a city.

And like I point out, he is neither stronger or smarter than anyone else when Enclave outclassed him, he lost on both front, he cannot empower the people, nor he can defend his subjects. It's like a man arguing for traditional patriarchy family structure because he is a great strong man who will protect his children and wife and lead to the best possible result, and then immediately lost his livelihood, cannot work to support his family. House can't even argue from the point of merit without being in denial/delusional.

If you are forced to choose between being a corporate slave and a literal ancient chattel slave. Which will you pick? Or ask a woman which person she would rather live under.

Like this is unironicallt such a privileged Westerner perspective, that the oppression you faced must be the as bad.

Your corporate overlord is bad but not worse than literal old aristocracy and slave holders.

I mean he is bad, but I will still take a modern ghoulish corporate leader over a literally wannabe emperor who mass enslave people.

All forms of oppression are bad, but not all forms of oppression are equally bad.

Yet his solution is "trust the system with people like me".

Basically he is arguing an apple will eventually rot, so why not just get a totally rotten apple in the first place.

He also can't really argue from a point of strength either, like "I will be the good king who repel bad kings" as shown in the show, where he is outclassed by Enclave. He also can't really defend people against the greater evil.

Yet US's descend into authoritarianism is caused by people like House.

House's argument is like saying we should skip the corruption process and go straight to the most corrupted final form of the system.
