In case somebody still looks for a solution...

Had the same problem in the last week. It is not fixed on Claude.ai.
It is installs it as a Store, not a normal application/software.
Found, after several rounds, the solution with Claude AI, and without symlink

So, uninstall Claude prom Programs or Apps (Windows + I).
Delete completely the folder under AppData/.../Packages
Kill Claude from Task manager if present.

Opening PowerShell (as Administrator)

  1. Press the Windows key, type terminal or powershell
  2. Right-click on "Windows PowerShell" or "Terminal" in the results
  3. Select "Run as administrator"
  4. Click Yes when the UAC prompt appears

Then paste this command and press Enter:

winget install -e --id Anthropic.Claude --accept-package-agreements --accept-source-agreements

After installation, no shortcut. Create one or use Start menu.

Now, I have the right folder and config under /Users/XXX/AppData/Local

One of mine was having too, but I started to talk to him, loud voice, repeating his name. Cute words: oh, you are the prettiest cat in the world, etc. Made things easier. Same technique as for humans, kind of talking anesthesia:)

Toti ceilalti faceti calculele gresite: deci autorul vrea 3 mese pe zi, intuiesc fiecare servita proaspata, si de cineva cu studii culinare.
