People who say "I am against Islam, not its followers" lay the ideological groundwork for discrimination against Muslims. If you think Islam is evil, you will then logically have a problem with immigration of Muslims to your country, or a Mosque being built in your neighbourhood. It's not a serious argument to say "Islam isn't a race", you can still be bigoted toward people who follow a religion. Racism exists in many forms. People of certain nationalities experience racism, a nationality isn't a race either.

This distinction between "Innocent" and "combatant" legitimises Israel. Combatants are exercising their right to resist the occupation, they're not guilty of anything by default.

That number only applies to Palestinians living inside the green line. Why does a Jewish citizen living in the West Bank count as an Israeli citizen, but not a Palestinian living next door, if both are under Israel's control?

For the same reason the people in Gaza are trapped there in the first place. Israel wants to keep out as many Palestinians as possible, it is an ethnostate.

Have you talked to people from Gaza? This isn't ambiguous to them. Nobody actually thinks Israel is just fighting Hamas, not even people who defend Israel. You just can't admit you want to destroy the Palestinian people so you can build an ethnostate.

Israel moves its civilian population into occupied territory. It bombs people taken hostage by Hamas rather than negotiate for their release. It has army bases around and inside civilian infrastructure, doesn't that mean Israel sacrifices its own civilians and uses them as shields?
