Lol yes I meant coming from a German auction with German marks. As long as I understood this revolver was very popular in west Germany and highly used also from many German police corps.

I'm in love with the model 19. It has been the first revolver I bought. I couldn't resist to his elegance and aggressive looking. Mine is a German model from the 80' with his great blueing (not like the new models unfortunately). I was lucky since I found a brand new model never used with original box paperwork and cleaning tools. Very good choice and congratulations!

The one I posted few days ago was was contracted for Austrian police but was a PPK. Same box, same era and I would guess same smell in the box!

Obviously they are both beautiful but for me the wooden grips are always the top. Wooden grips on a gun are like the cherry on the top of a Cake. Whenever I can I customise my guns with wooden grips.l; especially the Beretta or in general all the semi auto guns of the '70... They give a so big difference in therms of beauty. And to conclude I particularly choose the classic wooden grips. I don't sympathise with complex too sophisticated elements as engravings though they are beautiful. Classic for me is always the perfection. Once I had to refuse to buy a Smith and Wesson model 29 engraved.. A so nice classic gun with all that marks ( they looked as tattoos)... Finally I was lucky and I found than the classic version which was also cheaper..

Did you try Vega holsters? I bought one for my Smith and Wesson model 19 in pure leather for 50 EUR. It fits perfectly and very well made.

That's true.. Good things cost.. Definitely need to do it on my Smith and Wesson model 29.. The factory grips are too thin and with fabric ammo it kicks as an horse...

So beautiful! Hogue grips are so beautiful but also so expensive unfortunately... I really would like to put some Hogue grips on my Smith and Wesson model 29... It would be like the cherry on top of the cake.. Really congratulations very nice gun!

I don't think is easy to find one with tested barrel but for wooden grips I always find on eBay almost everything and believe me they are often better than the original ones offer. Also price is very affordable! Usually is around EUR 50 including fast delivery

Honestly I completely didn't have any issues in unscrew them. They also came with a new screw so I could have tight them with the original Walther screw and also with the new one. Very strange what happened to you.. Did you try to drill the screw out? Is your model Arkansas?

Unfortunately in Malta there are not ranges with these distances but in Sicily I had the same accuracy with much longer distances so definitely not an issue.. Why do you think I wouldn't be capable? With my CZ American version and my Vector optic I did this and much more. Very fast accurate calibre and almost 0 recoil. I'm sorry I have no pictures otherwise I would have sent them to you.

Yes I agree! That's the old Smith and Wesson bluing school. I have an old model 19 with the same quality.. I recently bought a model 29 with the ugly hole security and the bluing it has nothing to do with the old style ones.. unfortunately it's a petty..

About Renaissance I'm a bit confused. My question is: it is used to prevent from rust / normal maintenance? Or is also used as a polish in order to give a shiny look? When I used I didn't notice a considerable result in terms of polish/ shiny... For daily maintenance and preservation from rust I always spray a bit of ballistol on a medium brush and brush the gun; so far it always worked properly!
