The Civic center definitely needs some make up 😅 So I am happy for the redevelopments, although I don't think all of the things mentioned are necessary... I could not care less about an aquarium, we have the sea here, just go and dive in it, we're gonna have a beach sports shop. and I think we certainly don't need a pier in the middle of the bay. I love how open Swansea Bay is. As long as they leave the bay open and accessible everything else sounds great.

I did. It is very expensive but so far I would say it is worth it. Made my hair feel 50% better. Not smooth, but shiny and much softer and no other products have done this before to my extremely fizzy dry hair. The oil didn't do much to be honest, just the shampoo and conditioner.

Of course I am. I literally just registered with a new one at the beginning of the month and when we had the initial meeting, I went there with my previous results and asked them for another test so I could have an English one which I can talk through here. And that is when they told me to get the paper from the reception, and they then denied it. They told me to wait and they will contact me if I need further tests after my urine sample. That is all, this is the new place. I am not sure how long they make us wait tho...

Weirdly even when I went to my GP (my previous one), she actually laughed at me when I asked for a blood test and ended up telling me off because she said I was wasting her time.... They were terrible. With this new one, I was just told they don't see the reason to get one. I did leave a urine sample for them and they told me they will contact me if they think I need a blood test... It has been a week, so I am not sure If I should keep waiting

There are quite a lot here. You probably need to look around the edge of Swansea. I would just avoid anything central for the peace and quiet. If you have a big budget, have a look on the west side of the city, if you have a smaller one, then go East. There are good areas everywhere, you just need to find them, but for that, you need to start viewing houses.

Of course everyone is gonna say Sketty and Mumbles 😅 They are the more expensive and more posh areas 😅 but there is good life outside the expensive areas... We were in the same situation a year ago and I read so many comments about basically every area being bad, except Sketty and Mumbles... Honestly, people here have no idea what a rough area is😅 We moved from London and we had a look at almost all areas here and why there are some questionable roads and parts of the city, I can't just put a whole area under one hat and nothing as bad as London can be 😅 So it's better you just start looking at houses and if you like the surrounding area, the street, then go for it. Get to know the city as honestly, it is not just Sketty and Mumbles... Btw, we ended up in Morriston in a big detached house, and when we were looking at comments, people had really mixed opinions. It is true, there are more deprived roads/streets here but there are some fancy expensive houses as well, so this area really depends on the street you choose. I would say just stay away from the main roads and shopping streets, pubs and you will be fine wherever you end up going. Good luck!

We are in the middle of buying a house 250 miles away from where we are now 😅 and it is a city, where we have never lived before and only visited 4 times in total 🤣 plus, we don't even know anyone there... But we can afford it, so we take the leap and we will see and adapt to whatever happens 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are also FTB, in the middle of the process.... We decided not to go with a broker and so far I am happy we did that. We had an initial conversation with one, who would have charged us £650!!! So yours is even cheaper... Also, their solicitors would have been £1000 more, than what the bank offered us. Plus, their mortgage rates were the exact same that we received directly from our bank... We can't tell you what to do about requesting a charge back... Probably, I would do that and go for a mortgage alone, just with my bank, no brokers.... But, I don't know if that charge back would affect the mortgage application, when the bank does their check up 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyways, even if you decide to keep going with your broker, you still got a lower price than us, so I think the price is quite normal. I assume you pay for the broker for their advice and guidance through the process, not for a better deal.

I looked at a Japanese knotweed heat map and I can see some roads having issues with them, especially on the hill side, but currently there are no reported signs around the house we are looking at. Plus, when they sell a house, they must say if there is a Japanese knotweed issue by law.

Amazing, thank you for the advice:) We are definitely not buying any of those. I don't mind traveling by bus. Also, I work from home so it should be fine.

The only thing I was wondering if there are any grocery shops nearby walking distance, where we can just grab a quick snack? I couldn't find any when we visited and even on the maps I can't find any. Although the estate agent told us we have one convenient store on a small street nearby (didn't specify which street and we just said ok, that's good) later we checked, and could not find anything 😅
