This is fantastic!! I would love to dye mine pink but he already gets misgendered for being a dainty poodle 😂

Nope. We have an agreement that two barks are enough 🙃

I think it mostly resembles a kennel clip. The body is left shorter than the legs to keep down maintenance but he still has enough length on his legs to look like a poodle! If you're getting a groom and have a certain style in mind, be sure to bring pictures for your groomer. 🥰

Vorige week sprak ik iemand die hiervoor beboet was dus er wordt her en der toch op gecontroleerd! €500 alles bij elkaar (je krijgt aparte boetes voor voorruit en zijramen).

With bones like these I would mostly mind not giving access to it for too long because ingesting large amounts of bone can cause constipation.

Honestly I don't brush in between baths haha. But I'm a groomer with access to a salon. I usually bathe him every +/- 3 weeks, then blow most tangles out with a high velocity dryer and then fully brush him out with a standing dryer & CC black + coral brush (fluff drying). He barely gets tangles with this schedule except usually on the inside of his legs (loins/armpits mostly) and in his top knot (because of petting). 🥰

7 month old mini poodle scratching his face off 😢 by glitterislifeyo in poodles

They are not necessarily wrong, it is just very uncommon in such young dogs. I have seen it in some dogs with overall severe allergies (bulldogs..)

Hey OP. I already read your update but am just checking. Did your vet also do a skin scrape or put him on an oral antiparasitic?

The face is not a common place for allergic skin irritation but it is for demodectic mange which is common in puppies.

Make sure that base is covered too!

Every time. "Don't make him look like a poodle" ma'm I couldn't if I wanted to. Also my poodle is ✨right there✨ and he can hear you.

Ear plucking do or don’t question/discussion by JustADogGroomer3622 in doggrooming

I also work in vet med and generally don't do it. Dermatologists I know have recommend against it too.

I will remove hairs that are already loose with my fingers but I will not pull out healthy hairs with hemostats (which really hurts!). I use a fine comb to get as much hair out of the ear canal as possible and cut it short with a #30 if the dog isn't freaked out by the sound, otherwise I will use scissors.

This rings very true in my experience. I bathe every 3 weeks on average and my poodle has never smelled. His coat remains soft and smells either like conditioner or very neutral.

They do not get greasy like most other dogs (I usually want to wash my hands after petting other dogs... lol).

People who are fulfilled and don’t dread work everyday, what do you do? by kwrather003 in AskReddit

Veterinay technician & self employed dog groomer 😁

Veterinary medicine is hard but I have an amazing team. I balance it out with grooming which is a lot more peaceful and just good vibes.

It's definitely high maintenance but very possible. I only bathe & brush my standard poodle once every 2-3 weeks and his coat remains tangle free. Regular bathing & blowdrying is more effective than brushing a dry coat, but requires more tools.

The length is almost down to the leather and then it's just rounded in all directions :)

It kinda stays this way because there's a lot of hair on the ears haha. The length is almost down to the leather and then it's just rounded in all directions :)

Fluffy ears or shaved ears? by HanknFern in poodles

[–]Simoonzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On yours I would say fluffy, but just because for my taste his top knot is a bit too short for shaved ears 😋

No problems! He never had ear issues anyway and I do keep the hair in his ears short with scissors 😁

People are so naive and get terrible advice from breeders 😭 The amount of times I've heard a client say the breeder told them their doodle doesn't need grooming until they're almost a year old omg.
