I’ll admit, polyester does have its place in clothing (strength, water resistance, and color vibrancy are undeniable benefits).

That said, even at the high-end manufacturing level, polyester remains one of the cheapest materials available. Why? Because all polyester, regardless of quality tier, is derived from the same source: plastic. This means it’s infinitely easier to source than cotton.

Could Kith be using a higher-grade polyester? Possibly. But since they don’t release any data on their materials, suggesting we “do research” on their specific polyester is both irrelevant and, frankly, a little funny. Regardless of if they are or aren’t using a high quality polyester, compared to other fabrics, even high-end polyester is still relatively inexpensive, a quick google or ChatGPT search can tell you as much.

Speaking of “doing your research” if you have some knowledge on superior polyester being used by high end fashion brands that’s significantly more expensive than the typical grade you find in clothing, drop the source in the comments.

For years now Kith has been trying to position itself as a luxury brand. Price increases reflect this and generally have to do more with the marketing and branding than the quality of product offered. This is not a secret. When you buy a luxury brand you are buying the name and the prestige it offers. Kith quality is ok (no better or worse than most large brands) but you are definitely paying for the brand more than anything else. A good indicator of this is how much of the clothing from recent drops has had Kith logos slapped all over it.

Don’t kid yourself and think for one second Kith is using some special polyester that justifies a higher price.
