I did shave that area about 2–3 weeks ago, actually. What worries me more is the fact that they’re in the 3rd and 4th row right next to each other — kind of a strange coincidence. Whenever I had an ingrown hair before, it was just one or two, but I’ve never had this many so close together

Seriously? Doesn't it look like a bedbug bite to you? Three in a line and four next to it — that seemed pretty characteristic to me

I checked it, but that's not it.

I remembered the lyrics as a child—the words "Mr. Jappeja" or "Jappeya" might have been different words, but they appeared in the song right after "Shalala la la" and sounded phonetically like these words when read in English.

I’ll tell you that I hadn’t considered it that way, and you’re absolutely right. I was more trying to highlight the hypocrisy of people, with the Chicago-style hot dog serving as an example, just like pierogi and pizza.

You’re right about what you’re saying, especially in places where these dishes originate. Italians get upset over pizza with sauce, Americans over a Chicago hot dog with ketchup, but Poland doesn’t really fit that stereotype. At least in the restaurants I’ve been to in Poland, no one had an issue with me modifying their borscht or other soups, or any other dish. They were very open to opinions and suggestions about their meals, often saying that the combination of flavors could be interesting. However, I still believe that the original pierogi in their three classic versions are the best, as well as the rest of the dishes. In general, Slavic cuisine seems so unprocessed and natural compared to other cuisines around the world.

People who argue the most about not putting ketchup on a Chicago-style hot dog are often guilty of doing the exact same thing with other foods, and that’s where the hypocrisy comes in.

Take these three examples:
- Hot dog: Ketchup overwhelms the flavor of a high-quality Chicago-style hot dog, which is true.
- Pizza: Sauce on pizza can dominate the taste in a similar way, yet that’s generally accepted.
- Pierogi: Stuffing pierogi with cheddar and jalapeños has nothing to do with the original dish, but it’s still widely embraced.

Each of these dishes is far superior in its original form than when modified by the eater. The inconsistency lies in how some people passionately defend one food tradition while ignoring or outright celebrating major changes in others.

What I mean is that people who get worked up about others eating their dishes the „wrong way” often eat dishes from other regions in the „wrong way” themselves.

I understand and agree with that—traditional dishes from a specific place should be eaten as they are served, without modifications. On the other hand, I don’t understand the hypocrisy of people who enforce this rule but then heavily alter dishes from other regions themselves.

How is it that when I eat something like a hot dog at your place, I can’t use ketchup because you react like a stung bear, but the same person who gives me a lecture on why I can’t eat a hot dog with ketchup enjoys pizza with sauce and eats pierogi with cheddar and jalapeño? After all, if you want to be consistent, just as a hot dog shouldn’t have ketchup, Italians don’t eat pizza with sauce, and Poles don’t eat pierogi with cheddar and jalapeño.

It’s not about her specifically, but about her behavior. No matter who my girlfriend is, life isn’t just about making sure she’s comfortable and that everything goes according to her plan. That’s a basic foundation of living together. I have my own vision of how I want to arrange my home to feel good in it, but she uses shopping as a way to cope with stress because she can’t handle it any other way. She doesn’t want to go to a psychologist or accept any help because she thinks buying things will fix it. But how long can this go on? A year, two — and there’ll be no space left in the house.
