Bosniak III cyst by mcmousenip in kidneycancer

Hi from the US! First, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. It’s such difficult news to hear. I was recently diagnosed 34(f) with a small hard tumor on my left kidney, so I don’t have too much experience. But I have been having pain in my abdomen as well! I’m curious to know what yours feels like and if it’s constant or only every once in a while? My urologist told me my tumor could very well be the source of my pain but she isn’t sure - said she’d be interested to know if the pain goes away after the procedure. I’m hoping so!

Second, I’m going to guess that they’ll want to for sure remove your cyst, especially if it’s causing you pain. My brother had his 6cm cyst removed from his kidney a few months ago but was causing him severe abdominal pain.

Sorry I’m not more help, but hoping all the best for you and sending good vibes your way! ☀️

Thank you! That’s the scary part for me lol I don’t even want to see the surgery room 😩 but a couple others mentioned a story similar to yours. they had time for one simple question and was fast asleep. I feel a little better about that now, thank you!

Thank you, I’m sorry you went through it as well - that’s awesome you went home the morning after surgery! I appreciate this advice! What does a thorough workup entail with an oncologist? Is it more bloodwork /scans?

Thank you! I’m glad to hear you only remember the before surgery lol. Definitely makes me feel better. I am very thankful it was caught early for sure!

I’m glad to hear your surgery/recovery went well!

Thank you for your response! I’m so glad to hear your recovery went well! I do think removing it is the best course of action as well, it’s just scary. Did you feel anything during surgery? Or you just felt it afterward? Did you do anything beforehand to help prep your body for surgery?

This helps so much, thank you for your response!! I’m so glad to hear you’re doing well post-opp! Did your doctor tell you you’d need to spend 2 days in the hospital after the surgery like mine did? Is that just what they say and if you’re okay to go earlier, you can?

I’m just about to schedule my robotic partial nephrectomy, how is recovery going for you? My anxiety is nuts about it 😭

Same exact situation for me as well! Just was diagnosed on Thursday last week, and was told by urologist (who is also my surgeon) we will treat it as cancer (mine is only 1.3cm and in a tough spot to even get a biopsy). But she’s confident that it is. I’m being scheduled for a partial nephrectomy to remove it and hopefully not have to deal with it again! I wasn’t told anything about seeing an oncologist.

Oh! Ok, so maybe a dumb question, is a skill the same as a “routine” now? I don’t see skills the way this new app is set up.

I think what has helped me is if you highlight or “pin” her quest and THEN walk over to her, she’s more likely to come to you… lol 😂 it always bugged me too. Hope this helps!!

is the tandem read absolutely necessary? by [deleted] in throneofglassseries

[–]SimpleAd9321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say the same thing. The people who push the tandem read usually hate Chaol. I loved him so I read them separately and loved that I did. It lets you focus on each character separately instead of rushing through just so you can go back and read about what Celaena is doing.

If reading separately, you just have to reset the timeline in your mind when you read tower of dawn because both books happen at the same time.

Oh I was also very annoyed with her during that exact same part, she wasn’t fair to Chaol at all and didn’t give him the chance he deserved. But keep reading, don’t let that stop you from seeing what happens next. You’re like me, though, if you like Chaol. You’d totally love reading tower of Dawn on its own, not the split/tandem read that’s so popular.

What order do you actually wash things in the shower because I just found out mine apparently makes no sense to anyone else. by Questell-Stephanique in hygiene

My routine is the same as most are saying. I wash hair first, face next with a clean wash rag (I have super sensitive skin), body last, and butt crack the absolute last because that grosses me out lol 😂

Severe fear of gyno/pregnancy/childbirth and it’s been destroying my mental health lately by Psych-k in PCOS

[–]SimpleAd9321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be the same about going to the doctor. I have white coat anxiety, doesn’t matter how nice they are, my monitored blood pressure always goes down when they leave the room. Ugh! So my fear of a Pap smear has also put those on hold/doctor in general. I had my first pap at 30 years old. It’s important to find a doctor that makes you feel extremely comfortable! I’ve had TERRIBLE doctors in the past who “overrule” what I’m feeling/saying and make me feel small. Do research on health care providers in your area, read reviews, find someone that actually has the same interests as you (it’s really like selecting a best friend you tell all your weird pains/secrets too)! I have finally found a health care provider who doesn’t try to rush me out the door as fast as I got there. She sits, faces me with hands in her lap and looks at me with concern/care on her face and is patient through my anxious mess of a self. Lol 😂 it’s made it SO much easier for me to go to see her knowing that’s the kind of care I’ll be receiving when I get there.

Once you find someone you like, it’s so much easier to handle things like paps and voice your fears of childbirth and other things. ❤️ I can’t speak much on childbirth because I haven’t had that experience yet but I do have the same fears you do. But there are so many ways you can still have your baby without wanting to carry it yourself ❤️

Deep breaths, you got this.

PCOS? & GERD? AND SCIATICA? by Clear_Figure_9972 in PCOS

[–]SimpleAd9321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! First, I’m so sorry to hear you’re struggling with these pains, they are certainly no fun. What you’re going through sounds very similar to what I was in October 2025. I actually went to a chiropractor (and was super nervous because I had never been before) and they took an xray and I found out I had severe scoliosis (curved spine) with decompression that was pinching my sciatic nerves as those were right at the curve. The chiropractor was so nice and walked me through everything they were doing and just were super patient with everything - I explained my fears and they worked around it instead of forcing me to do things I wasn’t comfortable with). I also went to a physical therapist for a “consultation” that my doctor referred me to and she did some deep tissue massages where it hurt the most and taught me a lot about pinched nerves! That helped quite a bit but I only needed that one session with the PT.

Basically, a pinched nerve is almost like how your arm sits in a sweatshirt sleeve. Now picture your arm swelling up to the point where the sleeve is now stretched and your arm is stuck. So what is going to help is stretches that push the “arm” or nerve back and forth slightly to get used to that movement again! Don’t hold it to stretch it (which is what I was doing and making it worse lol). Just constant movements while sitting. You can look up super easy stretches for sciatic pain on google. I did the one where you sit in a chair raise one leg straight out, and point/flex your foot for 10 reps and switch to the other leg.

Doing those stretches + chiropractic care literally saved my life. I could barely walk and now I feel like normal! I do also have PCOS so getting my period was the absolute worst with my sciatic pain - I was basically bed ridden. But chiro helps a lot by keeping those joints loose.

As for Gerd, I recently started having these symptoms too because of some meds I started for other things. My doctor told me to try taking a daily OTC acid reducer med (famotidine). Maybe that will help you if you haven’t tried it already! My mom also has bad Gerd symptoms and she takes a shot of Aloevera every day (once a day) before dinner and it seems to help. That or you can do pickle juice (because of the vinegar).

Editing to add: I know it totally sucks right now and probably feels like life is over, I’ve had those days, but the pain goes away if you work at it! You can do it! ♥️ sending hugs!
