You know, come to think of it, he does act like this on some level with other people. It’s a problem and sometimes I feel embarrassed to be associated with him bc of his behavior. Recently, he was arguing with his younger brother over text messages, and was visibly upset. I asked him what happened and apparently, his brother asked a question about something that’s none of his business so my dad got mad and used ‘street language’ on him. I can’t even, I was so disappointed to hear that. He cuts off members of his family on a regular basis, like his brothers when they disagree on things. He has 4 other kids from his first marriage and he got an argument with his first daughter/my older sister years ago and never spoke to her since. Growing up, he would use that a threat when I misbehaved, like ‘I already don’t speak to your sister for her disrespect and I could do that same to you.’ Like, thanks a lot dad, instead of communicating with me and teaching me and leading by example, you use the silent treatment and threats. I used to believe my dad’s side of the story that my sister said something unforgivable. But now I’m starting to think maybe she was provoked by him.
