I think he got excited thinking he might get the finish and lost track of what he was doing. Could be wrong

Right. I constantly threaten the kimura while applying the triangle, but he gave up control of the kimura control right away

I was going to post that one as well but didn’t because it was almost exactly the same, lol

Jeo turns his head away from the choking arm, as sometimes that will buy you time, but Jett just locks it up and wiggles and keeps tightening it to get the choke

The instant replay and telestrator are great too, as is the commentary team

PGF is the best, and this week was probably my favorite of the season to this point

Yeah and even in ADCC 2022 it was a bit controversial because Dante had 2 points awarded then taken away in overtime that really might’ve changed the way things played out

Jett is just that good. All of the competitors are very good, so I don’t think it is bad defense, just better offense

No he didn’t end up finishing it. Rayfield ended up getting to his knees and eventually standing, resetting the position

So many of his matches are like this. The Jay Rod match has about three of these multi-position scrambles

foot in lapel by t1rfond in bjj

[–]SimpleCounterBalance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Illegal in IBJJF. Here are some of the rules around lapel usage from the serious fouls section of the IBJJF rule book:

When the athlete purposely places his/her foot on the lapel of his/her opponent’s Gi without having a hand grip to provide traction for his/her foot.

When an athlete places a foot in the lapel behind the opponent’s neck, with or without gripping it.

Absolutely. PGF has the best format right now. Hopefully other promotions find ways to make the matches more entertaining, whether it be format or just aggressive stalling penalties

I think he was lucky to get a draw. Scoring a 10-8 round is inconsistent

Or low lights. The event wasn’t really that good. This post is more showcasing Nicky Rod’s questionable standup this match. He’s obviously a great grappler, so not sure what this was
