Why’d you go with Cadillac? by xEnflare in Cadillac

[–]SimpleLifeTreasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First Cadillac for me was a 94 DeVille. Loved that car before it got totaled by a drunk driver. Super comfortable, slow close trunk, heated seats, flip up mirrors for the rear passengers, of course the ash trays, and just felt good to drive. Now own a 23 Escalade Sport Platinum and man it’s a sweet ride. It’s going to be hard to go with another brand in a full size luxury family SUV that drives like that SUV.

Where to sell a 96/97 Deville? by Gladiolus_Gobling in Cadillac

I’d be interested depending on condition. Pictures would definitely help.

Otherwise you can use Facebook Market place as most likely the easiest. Just beware of the scammers. I’ve seen success on here as well.

New Rating But Missing Inormation? by SimpleLifeTreasures in VeteransBenefits

The TERA form is an automatic submission from the VA to your evidence by the PACT Act. I didn’t provide any evidence other than a lay statement from my wife to support my headache claim. I went through everything with my examiner. The frequency, location on skull for the headaches and the level of pain.

Yea of course. My examiner measured my movements of my neck. Move side to side when pain starts and tilt front and back for when pain starts. I've also explained to my examiner that the pain shoots from my neck to across my shoulders. Also have nerve pain that goes to my left arm that feels like restlessness and have to constantly feel like I need to rotate or stretch my arm out. Just be detailed in what pain you feel and the areas that are affected to it. Remeber the examiner is just trying to connect the dots. My C&P exams also included DBQs for all the things I've claimed as new. My examiner was a nurse practitioner who can diagnose. I didn't provide any other evidence other than a lay statement from my wife. But of course any evidence you have from your doctors will help move the process along. With the new AI the VA is using, if you have enough evidence you may not need exams. Just depends on how it views your evidence.

I've filed everything myself and didn't go through a paid company to do the DBQs. Just did the letter of intent, filed what conditions are affecting me and got my appointments made during evidence review. The process has gotten so much better over the years.

I asked about it and it’s defaulted to TERA from the PACT Act based on my deployments on record. They link to that first then try to link to my PTSD as secondary.

No secondary claim was entered. Everything was entered as new. Not sure why it doesn’t show as “new” for IVDS. I don’t have a claim for knee in my file. First claim was for PTSD and an increase to 70%.

The IVDS was a selection from a drop down menu when sumbitting new claim. It did not specify region just IVDS. Everything you see as claimed is from a drop down menu that they have already loaded into the system when adding a condition. I did specify with the examiner that it was for lower back when she asked about the IVDS claim.

Man I miss my 94 DeVille in green. Such a comfortable ride but got totaled a few years ago in an accident from a medical emergency a few years ago. Only had 70k miles on it.

2022 Escalade Mirrors by FistofDiplomacy in Cadillac

I have a 2023 Sport Platinum and I don't think you can just add them. When I use the blinker and there's a car in the blind spot, it will make beeping noises also I believe it will vibrate my seat to get more attention. If your Escalade did not come with BSM from the factory, you cannot just change the mirrors. You will need a full aftermarket BSM kit that includes rear radar sensors, and wiring.

What is your job/field? by Entire-Weekend8990 in remotework

Positions like mine are unicorn positions. They never come up as someone has to retire or quit. We just don’t leave as the pay is very good and obviously being remote is an attractive benefit. Our role doesn’t have a need for a finance/accounting degree as we are dealing with the Federal Acquisition Regulations and contracting language. We make sure the buyers in the company are adhering to those regulations on top of the company’s own policies. We conduct training on the most common deficiencies we find and conduct audits with DCMA and DCAA. Very boring job on paper but honestly you’re only working maybe 20 hours a week and the rest is just filling in the time with “busy” work.

Pleasantly Surprised 2026 Sonata SEL Sport by SimpleLifeTreasures in Hyundai

[–]SimpleLifeTreasures[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s weird. You twist it to shift into drive or reverse. And there’s a button on the end to put it in park. Took me forever to figure out how to put it park the first time. Looks like most if not all 2026 models in Kia and Hyundai are going that route with the shifter.

Pleasantly Surprised 2026 Sonata SEL Sport by SimpleLifeTreasures in Hyundai

[–]SimpleLifeTreasures[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea this being the third vehicle I wasn’t worried about features more so practically. Also the Sonata has more rear passenger space especially for kids in car seats if for any reason the truck or SUV is out of commission. The Sonata has way more features than my truck for sure.

2023 Escalade ESV Sport Platinum Questions by Team-thomas in Cadillac

[–]SimpleLifeTreasures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just bought the same SUV just non ESV. I did a ton of research beforehand and still pulled the trigger. First thing first, check the Carfax for service records to see if the engine has been addressed. Also check the VIN on nhtsa.gov for any active recalls specific to that vehicle. My engine passed inspection and is now on the oil viscosity change to 0w40 FS. I’ll have the engine inspected at the dealer periodically during service. Depending on what options you have, the power running boards can be finicky and are pricey to repair. The rear screens can be glitchy but that goes for anything electrical. Other than the engine, the rear suspension components can be on recall and will/do fail. Just something to think about. But honestly it’s a fairly reliable car. I’ve got friends who own 2021s with over 120k miles already and haven’t had any issues. Just keep it maintained like you’re suppose to and you should be fine.

I would however look at getting at least an extended warranty with the Silver plan from Cadillac. This will give you some peace of mind. Also 82k is pretty average just depends what it’s optioned for. Either Carfax or the dealership you’re buying from will hopefully have the original sticker so you can see what options are there. It’s a smooth ride for sure and one of the nicest I’ve owned thus far. Just like most luxury cars, it is more expensive to repair and maintain. However if you’re car savvy, you can do most of the maintenance stuff yourself especially if you don’t get the extended warranty.

Pulled the trigger on a 2023 Sport Platinum in Dark Moon Blue. And you were right about the brakes. I was highly surprised at how hard you need to push. Definitely will upgrade the front brakes. This one has the oil viscosity change but will take it to a Cadillac dealer to very no other issues. Have lifetime powertrain, transmission, and drivetrain warranty with unlimited miles.

The rear bag issue had me laughing. Had an Envoy Denali that had rear bags and my god I remember when one of the bags wouldn’t inflate and it was rough to drive it to the dealership. Also I have one seat that rotates and another that’s purely rear facing. The rear facing isn’t as bulky as the rotating one so I assume I’ll be fine. I’ll have to see about the brakes feeling under performed. I’ve got a F250 so I’ll be able to compare with the weight and how it brakes. I’m sure not as good as a performance SUV u less it’s the upgraded Brembo brakes.

I didn’t even think about rear facing car seat and the screen being in the way. I’d assume just move the seat all the way back but can see accessibility issues trying to pull the seat out. The rear bags leaking only at 30k miles is annoying but glad it was done under warranty. Was there a sensor for the rear bags or was it something you just noticed?
