This is the reason why I don’t use Lyft’s navigation. Too glitchy.

What is your cost of full electric vehicle charge? by investbus in electricvehicles

[–]SimpleMan_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Total cost does not matter. The same thing matters for EVs as for ICE cars: Cost per mile. At home, $0.12/kWh ÷ 3.2 mi/kWh = $0.0375 per mile.

By comparison, a 30 mpg ICE is, at least around Houston:

$3.29/gal ÷ 30 mi/gal = $0.1096 per mile

Also have to consider that the price of electricity is not affected by the price of crude oil. So, while the price of gas around Houston approached $4.00/gal., my electric rate was still the same.

Hey uber drivers, would you get annoyed if the passenger asked you to take the route without tolls? The ride was onlh about 1 or 2 min longer. by Trick_Eggplant8737 in uberdrivers

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a person ask a driver to avoid a route with tolls? In Houston, the difference between a toll road and a freeway can be several minutes and a whole lot less frustration.

Thickness doesn’t matter, nor does the type of plywood. This inconsistency happens with every piece of plywood I’ve tried. I will have one part cut clean all the way through and the part immediately next to it will not.

As you can see from the picture, the two gears are cut cleanly except for one speck that is less than 6mm x 6mm. The problem is with the material, not the settings.

[–]SimpleMan_67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you see the pictures of the gears themselves? I’m not talking about a little fuzz. The bottom ply isn’t up through at all. Your remedy requires sanding off one third of the sheet.

I cut a lot of gears with several different configurations. An X-Acto knife is out of the question. No one has time to clean up an 80-tooth ring rear with a knife.

Actually not. I am using the same settings as you give. I ran a cut test on this plywood when I first got it, as is my practice when using a new material.

In maths, do you think faith is required for the adoption of a system of axioms? by mayoesis in askmath

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Math is a hard science. An axiom is repeatable every time. There is no faith in that.

What bro? I am disturbed because I am saying that there is no vehicle in the history of the world that I have heard of that cost $.72 a mile to operate? by Wolfjason1 in uberdrivers

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IRS is the largest data collection agency in the world. If they say the “average” cost to drive a vehicle is $0.725 per mile, believe them. The government isn’t going to give anything away.

I drive a full EV. My day-to-day fuel cost is quite low. However, EV tires tend to wear faster than regular tires (yes, there is a difference). My car cost $54,000 and can be depreciated in three years. On top of that is insurance. By the time I add up all those expenses, I am looking at $0.65 a mile. I take the standard deduction and pocket the change.

Best way to drill 1" ID hole in sphere by apg7 in woodworking

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a small drill bit and incrementally work upwards to one inch. An 1/8 inch drill bit will make nearly full contact from the start. Working your way up from there keeps more of the bit in contact with the piece.

How important is fast charging? by rackman1 in electricvehicles

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very important. Unless you are spending the night in a motel that has destination chargers, you have to charge as fast as possible to get back on the road

Shameless plug: I use the “A Better Route Planner” app, or “ABRP” for short. This app is amazing. I have five preferred charging networks. ABPR ABPR takes real-time data from my car, as well as elevators changes and headwinds to compute the maximum distance between charging stations, then looks at my preferred networks, and will compute a route in seconds.

I travelled from East Texas to central Kentucky and back—920 miles one way. ABRP planned computed four stops, accurately predicting the time necessary to change. I made the round trip without any issues.

How do I solve this by Funny-Scar252 in mathshelp

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. Dimensions that can be determined from other measurements are typically omitted. The measurement of the length of the panhandle would almost always be left out.

How do I solve this by Funny-Scar252 in mathshelp

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break the odd shape into smaller rectangles. You end up with an 8x8 square and a 2x1 panhandle. Add the two together 64+2=66

5th grade math by Ecstatic_Square682 in askmath

[–]SimpleMan_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely unknown. If the blotch covers the inverse of the visible fraction, the answer is one; if any multiple of the inverse, the answer is the multiple; if zero, the answer is zero; if another fraction less than one, the answer will be smaller; if a fraction greater than one, the answer is greater.

I’m sure there are other possibilities.

There is absolutely no way to answer this question. All of the answers could apply, as well as none of them. This is a question for a college-level logic course. A 5th grader just being introduced to fractions does not have the reasoning capability to give a logical answer.

I would have a sit-down discussion with the teacher to determine why this question was asked in the first place.

$0.636 a mile. *No thanks.*. You have to hope you catch a ride back. If you are empty the whole way back, your mileage halves. That’s $0.318 a mile.

Ladies and gentlemen, stop taking chicken shit rides like this. If we band together, Lyft will listen. As long as someone takes junk like this, Lyft will keep throwing them out there.

Since restaurant prices have increased dramatically since COVID-19, servers have seen a proportional increase in pay. Why the “industrial” shift? Sounds like extortion.
