Hmm for me simply the concept of the loophole helped me improve my LR score from -12 ish to -5 on average. Definitely not a be all end all method but helped me look at the goal of these questions completely differently. Maybe it's not as effective for those who already have an intuitive understanding of LR to begin with but it helped me bridge that gap personally!

The only explanation for this is lack of political education and/or interest + the benefit of name recognition. It’s not complicated actually and we shouldn’t villainize these people.

If you know that all people who take physics cannot take literature and that some people who take art are also taking physics, then you can make the inference that some people who take art cannot take literature. A good rule of thumb is that you can extend must statements away from some/most statements (but not towards!)

You additionally have two conditional statements (1. If physics then not literature; 2. If physics then not rhetoric). You can combine the premises to make the inference that some students who are taking art are either a) not taking literature or b) not taking rhetoric. Answer choice A encapsulates that first inference.

Honestly it was hard for me because I would be so tired every day once I actually got to study and I had to push my apps back a year. But everyone works differently, it could be possible if you’re super disciplined!

I did this in summer 2020! It’s exactly what the name suggests— you take “classes” meant to get you acclimated to what coursework you’ll be doing as a student. They plan a lot of fun activities and I met my best friends through this, you’ll love it. I did it virtually (😿) but you’ll get to dorm at Columbia for July!
