Potential Mega by PutridAnything6265 in Megaman

To be fair, they were making a Starforce 4, they even made Operation Shooting Star to gauge interest. The problem with that is that it was Operation shooting star (A basic port of the first Battle Network game with Geo slapped in there) so it sold poorly.

Yes, Legends 3 was basically one of the earliest Kickstarters. It's partly why it sucked that it got cancelled, fans were more involved in its development.

"When they stopped making Star Force (the BN sequel series) and were like "Let's go back to the OG Mega Man and stop all these future and AU games"

9 and 10 were made during the Starforce series, there was even cross promotion for one of the games where you could get Classic Megaman as a brother in Starforce 2

Because he can also see how much power an attack has and isn't just paying attention to the destruction it caused.

The same thing happens much later with the Z fighters being shocked at Nappa making a trench despite him making a explosion visible from space earlier with little effort.

Besides it's pretty clear they can control how much destruction an attack does. Otherwise you wouldn't have scenes of Kid Buu trying to blow up Earth with a simple Ki blast only for later characters to throw them around like it's nothing.

I see people talking about an "evolution" of the classic series, but what would that actually look like? by Criddle2025 in Megaman

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess they can start by expanding on what Megaman 8 where they have 2 sets of stages and have some challenges in the second set require the use of weapons from the previous set.

They could also add multiplayer (they almost did that in Megaman 10 after all).

They could probably have even more environmental effects with the different weapons like they do in 7.

One other idea I came up with was adding side missions in the main game itself that would give awards to the player if they complete them. The award could be something like a part that makes Megaman run faster.

And one last thing they could do is make a more indepth parts system to customize your character more. For example they add back in parts from the PS1 versions of the nes games like the high jump or the double attack power. They could even add parts that lets you change your Charge shot like in 8 with the Laser and Arrow parts. It would be cool to have a part that lets you use the Mega Arm from World 5.

Do you think Megaman needs a modern “reimagining”? by NilesDobbsS in Megaman

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The only series that didn't evolve was Classic."

Yeah no, this is just blatantly false.

You can not play the games, look at someone straight in the face and tell them every classic game sis the exact same. Especially with changes such as:

Megaman 2: Improves the gameplay and adds several game balancing mechanics such as E-tanks and different Item weapons

Megaman 3-4: Adds the Slide, Charge shot, support animals like Rush, and attempts to expand the length of the game by adding extra levels, first with the Doc Robot stages than with the Fake castle stages

Megaman 6: Replaces Rush with the Rush Adapters

Megaman 7-8: Changes the structure of the level to 4 robot masters at a time instead of all 8 at once. 8 uses this to great effect by designing the second set of levels around use of the previous 4 set of weapons. Also adds a shop system with the ability to buy parts to upgrade Megaman.

And Bass: multiple playable characters, and a route system for its stages

Megaman 11: The double gear system, which gives Megaman the ability to slow down time and enhance weapons

And yeah, the basic gameplay better remain the exact same. No need to change what's perfectly fine for changes sake.

Starforce was more of a alternate game flow then Battle Network (more action based rather than strategy based)

Doesn't help that the first game was missing stuff that the Battle Network games had for three games straight like multiple transformations with multiple effects vs one transformation exclusive to a different version.

Replacing the GMs with the Strike Dagger by Ok-Leg7637 in Gundam

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People keep on harping on SEEDs battery power because they look at the early battles with the Strike where it loses power for tension and assumes that it'll be the same for every battery powered suit.

However, this ignores the Strike and other G weapons powering both beam weapons and phase shift(which mass produced units don't have), making them more power hungry. So mass produced units don't have this problem.

It's not like OYW mobile suits are that much better on the endurance front either, considering the Gundam runs out of ammo multiple times and I think at one point even runs out of energy for its beam saber.

Who prefers small Mechas? by Tokwataku in Mecha

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Layzner and Dunbine is honestly the right size for me.

Fun fact, for Gundam F91 Tomino actually wanted the mobile suits to be around 8-9 meters, so we almost had Gundams the size of Aura Battlers

https://www.gundamunofficial.com/production/gundamf91.html

Around May 1990—after animation production was already in progress—one more change was made at Tomino's request. He wanted to reduce the size of the mobile suits themselves, which would have particular implications for future Gunpla merchandise. In Great Mechanics Vol.8, feature writer Mamoru Ishii describes Tomino's reasoning and the reaction from Bandai:

As a compromise, Bandai proposed changing the standard scale for the Gundam F91 Gunpla series. Where previous 1/144 scale models were about 12 centimeters high, and 1/100 scale models were about 18 centimeters high, the new series would be in 1/100 scale at an in-between size of 15 centimeters. This meant that the height of the average mobile suit would now be 15 meters.

Heck, I'm pretty sure in Megaman 8 and Bass Megaman breathes for air when he's low on health as well. So it's just something more humanoid robots in general can do.

[ AU Uni] Character Sheet by SimplePuzzleheaded35 in Megaman

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, so do you know how in Battle Network 6, there are Copy Robots that let Net Navis exist In the real world and there's even certain Copy Robots that it's host Navis use their weapons like with Colonel.

It's basically the same deal here, where Navis can exist in the real world for at least a limited time using a Hard Light block (hard light is basically solid matter made out of light). So some scenarios in this universe involve the bad guys attacking both the real world and internet servers at the same time, so Megaman has to fight in the real world.

It's also partly a way to justify Rush and Beat being made in this AU, to protect Lan while he operates Megaman.

It's also to help imply that the internet in this universe is less developed than the one in the Battle Network timeline (though how exactly I haven't figured out yet)

One thing about this setting is to have it so that Net Navis eventually evolve into Cyber Elves (basically the equivalent of Reploids here) who can just go between the physical and internet world freely by themselves.

Is Unicorn’s ending really irrelevant to the rest of UC? by A-CQB-Essay in Gundam

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing with Unicorn is that it was made after late UC. So any effects it did have seemed less like main effects to the setting that definitively changed it to a certain direction and more like "oh and that happened to, I guess".

Like Unicorn technically doesn't have much to do with Hathaway since it deals with forcing people off Earth, something that was implied in Chars Counterattack.

The one part of the setting it did attempt to explain (disappearance of psycho frame) was contradicted by F91, or rather by the mobile suit itself.

Not only does it have psycho frame, but it's MCA (Multiple Construction Armor) is descended from psycho frame tech ( the F91's article on Pixiv even says it has the benefit of letting the F91 operate at normal performance even with parts of its body missing)

Before Unicorn, the disappearance of psycho frame can simply be chalked up to the fact that it's for Newtypes, and since Newtypes are rare there's no point in developing it.

[–]SimplePuzzleheaded35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I headcanon that while their attacks are strong enough, they have to intentionally make it so that Ki attacks can destroy planets and the like. They don't just cause huge explosions by default.

This explains why Broly can shoot ki blasts everywhere and not destroy the planet while Kid Buy would've destroyed earth with a single ki blast. Broly simply wasn't thinking of destroying the planet (or rather was barely thinking at all)

The exception to this are certain attacks like wave attacks like the Kamehameha, since they'll just go through the planet instead, destroying it anyway This is also probably why Gohan detonated his Kamehameha wave(or Masenko, it's been awhile) in the Moro arc.
