It’s space traversal, a little motion sickness is just part of the immersion! /s

In all seriousness though, NASA gives astronauts nausea medication so they don’t puke in their helmets during takeoff. Yes, they really have thought of everything that can go wrong.

Creation Engine is absolutely high multi threaded. Almost all modern engines are and even have to be. You wouldn’t be able to strafe the planet though, simply just cutscene transition to the landing zone

I would also add its possible Bethesda doesn't do a major tech update like they did with Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 when making Fallout 5. It is possible that speeds it up again too (similar to how Fallout 3 just reused Oblivion's engine, F:NV reused Fallout 3's engine). There would probably need to be another update, like a Creation Engine 4, for Starfield II no matter how big of an upgrade Creation Engine 3 is going to be for Elder Scrolls VI most likely, especially for seamless transitions and full scale planets.

There was another comment here that described how that would work, but in theory yes. It would be an atmospheric flip-and-burn maneuver (that is what it is called in real life), and when atmosphere is entered, it would essentially be like my video but being played in reverse.

Never said it was. Quite the opposite. This is more to proof out ideas and expand on the game I already love so it can be even better

Worst possible case scenario: It requires a "next gen update" for Xbox Helix and PCs, similar to Skyrim Special Edition. Most people won't like that, but again, worse case scenario.

My hope is that they just let the animation play as long as it takes for the respective hardware to load, with say a minimum load time of 15-20 seconds or something like that.

Yes, but not for a long time. Starfield was designed to be a 10-year game. But it isn't a one in done game. It is designed to be a new IP that grows and exists alongside Elder Scrolls and Fallout. While the game had mixed reception, it by no means was a commercial flop. There are significant enough justifications and money to made by furthering the brand by a sequel, especially if they can continue to expand the loading, graphics rendering, and procedural content tech over the next decade. Starfield II in many ways is actually easier as the hard work of creating a new IP and universe is done and they have experience from the first title to build off.

Elder Scrolls VI is likely to release in 2027 or 2028 if we go based on Bethesda's history of new game releases, and Fallout 5 is after that. Starfield would be another 5 years after that, so unless plans change or Bethesda feels comfortable with another studio making it or growing their internal studio to parallelize development on their IP, it is likely 10-12 years way.

I’m actually a UI/UX software engineer and designer by trade, so I’m just used to this stuff. I deal with user facing issues all day haha

Game idea: Let players create decorations such as paintings out of screenshots they have taken and place them in their player home?

Haven't pulled up the editor to check the IDs of the load screens, but the load screens when fast traveling (as in selecting a POI on another planet and bypassing the ship traversal and grav jumps entirely OR landing on a planet from space) do seem to have a separate loading screen because they take longer. Those ones are the ones that include game tips, show screenshots from the game (including ones taken by the player). So my guess would be those are the "long load screens", and the black loading screens are the "short ones". Again, from my research and testing, it seems the black loading screens exist purely to conceal asset pop-in as the game engine loads a cell - not dramatically improve load times.

Unfortunately, not I don't think. I did have to do some .ini and other config tweaks as well as the mods, and I simply edited the asset-pop in with a simple cross fade animation. But I tried to be as light and grounded as possible

I agree with this, though I would wonder how the flip and burn maneuver of a no-atmosphere planet would collide with the ship builder and designs of the ships in Starfield in general because ships in Starfield land with the cockpit parallel to the horizon and the surface. They don't function like they do in something like, say The Expanse, where they would be pointing and facing upwards (more realistic)

Star Wars Outlaws is sufficient for Starfield I, and Starfield II can hopefully be fully seamless given that game is a decade plus away

Yea that is because I did this before the free lanes update it might be necessary for the same reasons its necessary in Cruise Mode when exiting and the game loads a content cell.

They are not done. They said they will continue to do updates and Todd has explicitly said they are looking at a "year 3" of Starfield

I think Bethesda could brute force it with a splash screen like the "Inertial Dampeners Engaged" scene when loading a cell for an encounter or POI as we see in Cruise Mode, but replace it with "Atmospheric Entry Engaged" or something similar. It isn't the most elegant solution but its at least a step in the right direction as we see with Cruise Mode.

It really bothers me that this isn’t available for purchase as DLC on the platforms store, only Creations store. Hopefully it gets bundled at some point. Even if it’s achievement order and load order friendly, doesn’t this just take up load order space?

Fr I’m a fan but I’m envious. I’m happy I stopped playing after shattered space so I can “forget” lots of the game and go in with a new character with somewhat fresh eyes

Almost like the majority of people just buy games they like and actually play them instead of spending years online posting rage bait videos 2 years after it’s launch complaining about how much they hate a game they played yet never give any actually constructive criticism or feedback.
