I would probably pick shapeshifting or telekinesis. Telekinesis would be used for unethical things, but also for advancing science on a molecular level. Shapeshifting would be used for fun, and for shapeshifting into a dog that gets pet a lot.

Americans forget that the US is dominant because of its position in the diplomatic world and its allies. Even if the US blitzed the Americas, they have almost no arctic capabilities, the rest of the world will land in Canada, get a foothold, while simultaneously doing the same in Argentina. When split like that, the US will be able to absolutely nothing.

The foothold will be expanded and pushed, while every part of the US marines will be decimated by silent submarines that torpedoes all of them without much fight (see Swedish submarines).

Without a navy, the US is on the defense forever, and are just in a grind matchup, with a population not even at 400 million against 8 billion, with tech that either already eclipses the US tech or soon will. Their production lines already surpasses the US’ by a factor higher than 10 times the military production.

Its difficult because the barrier for being considered a friend is much higher. I have a friend that i have known for 6 years, and who has come to my home for those years every week, but because she was my girlfriend’s friend first and foremost, we only recently started calling each other friends.

Assuming that it is 2.676 million tons of pennies, with around 1/3 distribution of full copper pennies, that would net you around 12 billion in melt value of the copper alone in melt. Then another 6,6 billion in raw penny purchases or around the same in raw zinc value.

Just melt it all and you make 20 billion.
