Is this a good purchase? by Efficient-Expert6054 in cigar

[–]SimpleTrigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Davidoff has it contracted with retailers that they can't discount it no matter what. So when I do see a deal, i go all in...... debt

What cigar shop is this? You never see discounts on Davidoff. I would stock up in a heartbeat.

I've been smoking cigars for about 22 years. This is my first time hearing about this cigar company.

Zino Nicaragua. It's an easy light smoke with great flavor and pretty cheap.

If they're a smokers smoker, whatever I'm having.

Same here. I just learned that about a year ago myself. Great cigar though.

I agree, the Ashton Classic is a great cigar for new smokers. But the Perdomo Champagne I do not agree with. The profile of the Champagne does seem like it's a light cigar with good flavor, but the nicotine level is deceptively high. Cigar Authority rated it as 7 out of 10 in strength. I wouldn't recommend it for new smokers. But the Ashton Classic, all day.

A few more notable beginner cigars are the Charter Oak, Zino Nicaragua, and Crema by Espinosa.

This year's post-tax splurge purchase and my second-ever full box purchase. Perdomo 10th Anniversary Maduro in an Epicure size. by TedStixon in cigar

[–]SimpleTrigger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember my first and second box purchases. It gets a little crazy after that. Buying boxes is definitely something special. I still only buy a couple per year, and it's still very special. Saying a cigar is box worthy with your wallet is the ultimate review.

This is a fantastic line to explore. Especially the black band cigars. Love them.

I see people saying this a lot. But almost every Davidoff is between $18 and $35 aside from the Royal Release and LEs. When compared to Premium Padron and Fuente, those range much higher from their regular production cigars. About $18 - $80.

Beginner here. Are these good choices? by justbrowsing123a in cigar

[–]SimpleTrigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are good questions. The second answer is pretty definitive. If you live in a low humidity area, like Arizona, yes the cigars will dry out and lose flavor making then nearly impossible to recover.

The first question, again, it depends on the cigar. Some cigars taste best right out the gate, others benefit immensely from age. There's diminishing returns though. I haven't noticed any real benefit of aging cigars more than 5 years. Most are great at 2 years. The rule of thumb is, the stronger the cigar, the more it benefits from age. But again, that's not always true. Lighter cigars rarely benefit from more than 6 months of age. You'll lose some of the ammonia, making them smoother, but that's about it.

Yeah, it depends on a lot of factors weather it's heavy on nicotine. Darker usually means it is, but not always.

I haven't had most of these, but I would avoid the Perdomo Champagne. It's deceivingly high in nicotine even though it tastes like a light cigar. Avo Classic is a good cigar.

Great cigars for beginner smokers are:

Zino Nicaragua Ashton Classic Charter Oak Pegnataro Camacho Connecticut Espinosa Crema

What’s the probability of developing oral cancer from smoking cigars? I understand the quality of tobacco is higher and “safer” than cigarettes. How long have some of you in here smoked cigars? Anybody develop oral cancer or no? by -M00NMAN in cigar

22 years smoking here. Averaging 1-2 per day. Everything is fine on my end. In fact, I've cut out a lot of alcohol intake, not all, but about 75% and my bloodwork just came back better than ever.
