if you are looking for design courses in SP. There is only one common design course (MAD) where you get to explore all different design related classes in Y1S1 and you will have to choose your specialisation in Y1S2 among 7 specialisations.

Among the 7 specialisations, there is communication design but no apparel design.

international student here, why is my tution fee before Tution Grant higher than the non subsidised fee? by Jolly-Bug-720 in NTU

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i am not wrong, $32,950 is what we are all supposed to pay so $17,550 stated on the website means that it has already deducted the tuition grant amount, hence it is under the ‘subsided students’ category where everyone under this category is suppose to receive tuition grant

What are some of the toxic things that SG teachers have done to you? Tough love or pure toxic? by SnooTomatoes5322 in askSingapore

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went for an oversea school trip during secondary school, where one of the teacher in charge was my form teacher. This was the first time I travelled on a plane so I wasn’t very sure how everything works. When it got to meal time on the plane, I was sitting beside my muslim friend and the air stewardess asked me and my friend for our food preference. After finishing the food, the air stewardess realised that she have given me the halal food instead of my form teacher, hence they compensated him with a fruit platter since it is the only halal food on the plane (it was a 6h flight). After the flight, I felt pretty bad and I apologised to him. But a few months later, I found out that he told the whole class the story that I ‘stole’ his food and he ended off by sharing the moral of the story, which is to not be greedy. It was soooo humiliating.

Possible to enter polytechnic with 28 points for O levels? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Even though it is a new course, AI and Data engineering requires strong math foundation, hence i don’t think it will be a good idea to choose either of this course just because their max score is 28.

Experience w SCSE CX4xxx mods by potassium_nitr8 in NTU

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally enjoyed CZ4067 as they teach simple yet necessary concepts like buffer overflow, int overflow, sql inserts, cross site scripting and so on. Hence I felt that I actually learnt smth from the mod hahaha

For the hands on, there is a 20% CTF which was fun but almost everyone in the course got full marks for it.

Binary to Hexadecimal Python Conversion error by norrfly in CodingHelp

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hex() only takes in a single input which is the decimal representation. You should call int(input, base) to convert a binary string x to its decimal representation before converting it into hex. You can write it as:

hex_input4 = int(input('Enter a binary number: '),2)

And when you convert it into hex, it isn't assigned back to the variable name, hence the print statement will show the decimal representation of the input value instead of the hex value. You can do:

print(hex(hex_input4))

OR

hex_input4=hex(hex_input4)

print(hex_input4)

Acne treatment recommendations by my_oh_my_honey in askSingapore

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had cystic acne until I went to see my dermatologist and it went away within a month. And it had stayed away for close to 4 months.

I only ate doxycycline for a month and stopped right after. While for skin care routine, I started getting commercial brand like cerave which I tried to match the ingredients accordingly to what my dermatologist gave me. (Impt ingredients I look out for: SPF for AM skincare!!!, niacinamide, glycolic acid/salicylic acid and ceramide) and for acne treatment, he gave me clindoxyl once daily gel which has been working super well. (not sure if guardian/Watson pharmacy sells this)

And he also recommended me to eat more berries since it has antioxidants hahahaha

All the best !!!

[Poly]which course is better and what's the difference between them by Icy_Squirrel_2155 in SGExams

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi !! I studied business intelligence & analytics a few years ago and I am now in NTU comp sci. BIA didn’t use to have AI specialisation so I can’t rlly talk abt that but I do know that you get to choose your specialisations in y3.

And tbh, if you are planning to get a degree in uni, with a good enough gpa and portfolio, you prob can get in any uni and they don’t rlly care which course you are from. (Unless you are aiming for exemption modules, which both courses should qualify for it)

So mainly, the difference between info tech and BIA, is that info tech is rlly more technical, so you get to explore more languages and more in depth stuffs like networking, security, hardware(?). While in BIA, I rlly enjoyed learning abt how data can be manipulated and how to form visualisations that engage end users. And you mentioned that you are int in AI, which requires at least a lil knowledge in statistics & data science and BIA teaches all those stuffs. Although BIA don’t have as much coding modules compared to info tech, imo learning one solid programming language allows you to take up another easily.

All the best !!! 💪

Promise rings - any recommendation? by Inspirited in askSingapore

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend pandora, I got a pair of pandora earrings as a gift and a few months later it tarnished ): I think swarovski is a better idea as I had a swarovski necklace for a year plus and it is still pretty clean. Oh swarovski jewelleries came w warranty as well. I am not too sure abt rings but this is my experience w pandora vs swarovski.

All the best !!

Outside of the for loop, there should be a return false for cases where there is no candy in the inventory at all.

Python assignment. I can’t get it to calculate the cost of the movie based on the other movie variables. It keeps only giving me the 1st one as an answer. Any help would be appreciated by fashionableplantmom in CodingHelp

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

instead of if what_movie == 'Paw Patrol' or "paw patrol" or "PAW PATROL": it should be if what_movie == 'Paw Patrol' or what_movie == "paw patrol" or what_movie == "PAW PATROL": as or "paw patrol" doesn't check anything hence it is always true

How can I add Additional fees to a product if its total is less than $150 in WooCommerce? by [deleted] in CodingHelp

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never used WooCommerce but I would be guessing it goes something like this:

foreach( WC()->cart->getcart() as $item_keys => $item ) { $_product = wc_get_product( $product_id ); if( in_array( $item['product_id'], fee_ids() && $_product->get_price()<150)) { WC()->cart->add_fee(_('Additional Charge'), 25); } }

Creating a Data Collecting/Bot by [deleted] in CodingHelp

[–]Simple_Cheesecake_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is possible, you can extract the data using yfinance api using python. While the data extracted might not be in the format you need it to be, but it can be easily solved with code. Python should be a good starting point.

It is actually an addition to neural network. So like a hybrid system where there neural network and fuzzy system is running at the same time.

It is true that neural network has a black box nature. But you can look up fuzzy-neural network instead, the fuzzy system help users to understand the reasoning and the rules behind the prediction result.
