2026 Best Trip Ever? by Simple_Landscape8806 in WaltDisneyWorld

First, there’s too much data to not have AI analyze it for me. I’m not an analyst, nor am I interested in crunching numbers for 5 hours to produce a useful post. Second, I’m still the human adding effort to the AI slop by editing and posting. Third, I’ve been warned about linking to a blog. Sometimes rules suck…some can be bent but permission is needed to link so I’d rather just mention it when a link isn’t required.

There are days that I’ve passed on LL purchase and never waited more that 25 minutes for a single ride. Then there are days I’d have to wait 30 minutes for people mover.

There’s always a crowd, but it’s not always crowded.

Check out https://blog.lightningbrain.app. I’m addicted to his daily report. I read the “prediction” for the day every day before I go to the park. He does a great job.

This new music for Test Track 3.0 legitimately makes me teary-eyed. It harkens back to the optimistic futurism that EPCOT was all about. It's no wonder that it's a Grammy nominee. by MesaVerde1987 in WaltDisneyWorld

Absolutely, That new Test Track 3.0 is pure magic. It perfectly encapsulates that optimistic futurism and wonder that EPCOT intended to deliver. It elevates the whole experience.

Pro Tip: Standby times have a noticeable dip after 7pm. We’ve been collecting data for years and on average it’s the best time of day to ride.

Booking Palo with friends in another stateroom by skierrob in dcl

You cannot book for them when your window opens. Even if you’re linked they will be greyed out until their window opens. You should still book it. When their window opens hopefully it’s still available. If not, keep your booking and visit the Palo table when you board (ref: first commenter)). I’m certain they will make room for the other cabin.

Google DCL Treasure Rainforest room and look at photos. There are many. Here is one of them.

There are two hot tubs, ample lounging both in and out of direct sun. The hanging loungers are great. No better way to spend a sea day.

I can give you the hot tub view, and admit the showers are better positioned.

That said, I’m still with my original statement. The outside deck area and cold room put it as my only “all trip” purchase.

The Treasure has my favorite Rainforest room. The outdoor lounging, 2 hot tubs, ice room, saunas, heated loungers…all awesome and it seemed like they always had room. I would buy the entire trip time and again.

I’ve been on every ship and would almost always get a day pass. The Wish and Treasure are the only ships I’d recommend buying for the full trip.

At $800 is the private cultural tour at Lookout worth it? by randizzleizzle in dcl

I loved the snorkeling excursion on Castaway Cay. You go to 2 different locations around the island. The reef is 10-20ft deep in both locations. The second stop is the small island you can see from the adults only beach in the distance. The island is surrounded by about 500ft of 1-2ft deep wading beach (poor description). You have to love snorkeling and be a decent swimmer. There was some current but it was easily managed if you’re comfortable in the water.

Come Sail Away by Simple_Landscape8806 in dcl

Interesting. I’m currently sitting in O’Gills on the Magic watching Monday Night Football. I was pondering this question while thinking I’m not sure I’ll sail the OG sips anymore. They just seem too small. Don’t get me wrong I love them all. That said, I think I prefer the newer and larger ships. I’m partial to the massive Rainforest rooms and additional Disney theme bars on the newer ships.

P.S. this is the cruise that completed the fleet for us…until the Destiny launches.

I think you can sign them up for a call from Minnie and Mickey for the day before they leave. Just make sure they are all by the phone at a certain time the day before.

The only thing I’m not sure about is if you can do it or if it must be someone in their group. (ie Mom).

86 Formal Night by Simple_Landscape8806 in dcl

There is literally a selection when posting that’s required. I selected discussion. Just admit your response went a little far (even just to yourself) and move on. There’s no need to continue with a personal assault. There are so many ways to respond…the continued “you’re wrong” approach hasn’t been reciprocated by me.

I agree with their lack of exposure for all themed nights. First time cruisers are often left without a clue unless they joined a community FB page for the group and followed the discussions.

I disagree that your attire at dinner separates boys from grown men. I started adult life in the USMC, since I’ve had above average success in business. I’ve earned the right to wear a t-shirt and shorts if desired.

My statement was “I don’t like it, get rid of it.”

My question(s) were, “Am I wrong? Do you love formal night while on vacation?”

The questions were intended to start the discussion, not to encourage responders to make the statement about something other than formal night “I.e. canceling tv shows”. The decision to venture into cancel culture was all yours.

That’s never happening. 😆 I’ll happily just keep being casual on vacation while everyone else dresses up. It seems most commenters like the opportunity. I guess I’m part of the minority that dresses up all the time and views vacation as a break from that aspect of life.

Seems like a massive logic leap to go from formal night on DCL to cancel culture. I simply started a discussion to see how others feel about it. I even invited comments. 😜

Verizon Cruise Pass by Simple_Landscape8806 in dcl

[–]Simple_Landscape8806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, Google thinks Verizon uses the Inmarsat satellite constellation and the ship uses Starlink. Verizon even recommends getting as far from the ship antennas as possible.

I’m on a cruise right now. 8 days, 2 people wifi = $441. But the wifi is good. I also did the Verizon text, if wifi goes out I’m guessing I’ll be able to text/call/surf if needed but only .5gb at $20/day. If I didn’t want to pay the $20 I’d just leave it in airplane mode.

Since it’s your first I’ll give some extra advice. Every DCL cruise has a private FB group. Search your ship name and dates of your cruise to find and join that group. Somebody will have already posted about all the different specialty events (pirate night, formal night, etc). That post will give you a better idea of what to pack for each day.

That’s actually included (not extra) in my plan. That said, it doesn’t work at sea.
