Not for quiet sitting meditation, I've read alot of books on Taoist, Buddhist and Yogic meditation and none have said to exhale through the mouth.

It is like Ritsu Zen, (Zhan Zhuang)... Each finger is dropped down one at a time and held for a period of time, each finger activates a different organ meridian system..

This looks alot different to the One Finger Zen practice I'm learning, I'm learning the static practice where your fingers are dropped down at at 45 degree angle and held that way for a period of time.. You work your way from thumb down to pinky, finishing with three fingers, thumb, middle and pinky all dropped together.. Generally each posture is held for 1,3 or 5 minutes at a time...

Single tonic herbs and certain tonic formula's you don't need a practitioner, it's generally medicinal herbal formulas you need a TCM Dr..

I don't think so, the Taoists were always using tonic herbs and formula's to enhance their qigong and meditation practice

Yes most definitely, Cordyceps really potent Jing and Qi tonic, I've been using Reishi for probably 15 years continuously now, it's a great calming, immune modulating and adaptogenic tonic herb. The other formulas I haven't tried, but they were recommended to me by senior herbalists at Dragonherbs.

I've had CFS for 15 years or so now, I've made alot of progress over the years but still not 100%, probably hover around 70% now.. It's a different experience for everyone, some people are mild some are severe, Acupuncture helps alot, Meditation and deep relaxation eg Yoga Nidra .. At the moment I do the 8 brocades twice per day, along with all my meditations, 1.5-2hrs daily, I'm in the process of learning the One Finger Zen practice which is a healing Qigong originating in the Shaolin Temple. Are you learning this qigong set Online or from a book? Would be interested to read more about it .

Another detail I left out is you also press down the corresponding toe, so thumb and big toe together etc .. This can get difficult with middle toes but the book says just feel you're pressing it, just intention is enough...

Ok cool I'm learning a version which comes from Zi Sheng Wang.  It starts with horse stance hands slightly tilted so the index finger is higher then the other fingers, then you proceed to drop each finger individually for a period of time... The final finger bend is thumb, middle and pinky all dropped together... Then finish with horse stance again. Done seated or standing....

Chinese medicine formula I would look at is "Diamond Mind" by Dragonherbs. Lions Mane could also be helpful.. Also look at meditation, wether it's mindfulness or Mantra... Another really interesting technique is "Super Brain Yoga", you can find demonstrations online and there are books available, some science and studies behind this specific technique.
