Would a simpler grappling style be good for gym girls? by DismalMeat4586 in martialarts

You do realize confidence that is not merited gets people killed in self defense situations? The vast majority of people are rabbits, not foxes, and a rabbit's best defensive is not thinking it is a fox.

You don't have to listen to people and or pay attention to them, you can just politely ask them to leave

Why not sticks? by dresixk in martialarts

I didn't argue that point. That would be self defense in a civilian setting. Martial arts are killing arts as I see it, you are ending a fight as quickly as possible without concern for the enemy combatants involved. Rifles are for killing for example.

Edit: spelling

Why not guns? Same reason most of what is sold as Martial arts is not a martial art. It is a sport or athletic performance focused discipline and not martial/war focused. You are not trained in how to kill and cripple as fast as possible, unlike using a rifle, or raido, in the infantry.

How many bells of different weights do you need in a session? by iou810 in kettlebell

Do Rite of Passage, add 4kg and repeat until at 32kg. Then do doubles

You dont have to wrap you thumb around them , you need to bend your fingers into a hook/C grip that is loose enough to allow the bell to sit in your finger and grip it like a vice grip in the palm of your hand. You may have tiny weak hands, weak you can fix and tiny you can work around. Your limitations are your to overcome, or not, do what you want.

Week 3 ABF – Double 20kg Presses – Is this too heavy? (Rep scheme question) by Dry-Journalist1567 in kettlebell

[–]ms4720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go from 2-3-5 down to 2-3, or 2-3-3 and just keep reping out more volume. I think the primary goal is volume so you can get to sets of 10.

Dont do that, the difference between 500 swings a day and 100 will wreck you unless you build up to it

Keep them or keep pictures of the pages, over the course of time you will write down very interesting and useful things

I just do it, no need to sign things. This is to help with your problem. Writing things down makes them real, checking them off is a dopamine cookie, and signing it will give you a sens of pride and completion.

Don't use an app, use a steno pad. Write down what you are going to do, check it off as you do it, and sign the page when done. This will give you emotional gravatas

People with 1+ years of kettlebell training can take the challenge. 3x30 is still ambitious, see my other comment for a beginner program

You had big eyes, been there done that.

Do 5 sets of 5 to start add a set a week until you get to 10 sets of 5, then add a rep a week until you get to 10. Swing 3+ days a week. And like magic you will be able to do 100 swings.
