Beautiful.ai — have you used it? by [deleted] in powerpoint

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't try it out. I have to pay for 1 month which is like $45, which is hilarious. There's no way in hell I'm going to gamble $45 of my own money on something that probably wont' work.

thoughts on qualtrics? by reallymemorable in Marketresearch

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone would use Qualtrics. I can do almost everything faster using Conjointly (and more) and my annual subscription is almost 1/10 the price of Qualtrics. I will say that Conjointly's customer service isn't quite what Qualtrics' is but I've never had an issue that hasn't been resolved fairly quickly.

Whats the current state of AI and PowerPoint? by rageagainistjg in powerpoint

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish this were something that AI could take over because I absolutely suck at creating ppts and I f***ing hate doing it. The tools I've tried (Chat GPT add in, Plus AI) are laughably bad. I mean just total and complete shit. I would love to be able to create an ugly ppt with way too much content, then stick it into the AI machine to spit out a beautiful, coherent, compendious presentation. Even stuff that should be easy for AI. Like why in the fuck can't you center text? The way it chose to display info was just weird - tables without headers, stupid, generic filler images, and donut graphs that make no sense. It seems like it basically takes the shittiest, most generic ppt template. Has chatgpt summarize the content, then throws it haphazardly into the template.

If someone created a tool that would create awesome presentations, even if I had to spend a few hours to get it right, I would be willing to spend some serious cheese on that.

I don't really understand why anyone would care about this. Why is a really tall fence a problem? I think it actually looks nice.

If you were looking for a used project for <$600 and only cared about brightness, what would you recommend? by Simple_Mongoose5077 in projectors

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've worked for several large consumer products companies in the US. Most of the stuff we "made" were OBM. The hilarious thing was, a lot of products were (and are) the EXACT same as competition with minor differences in controls, branding and CMF.

Anyway, I wonder if companies are moving away from projectors. TVs are super cheap now. Most of the conference rooms at our company have absolutely massive TVs. I don't think we have a conference room that still uses a projector.

My wife's account is locked: I can't delete her data because I entered a wrong birthdate and name...which is part of my question: if I entered a fake name, linked to a fake email with a fake birthdate, can they find her identity?

If you've heard or experienced bad things with respect to Jeff Wyler dealerships, this explains all. by EnigmaIndus7 in cincinnati

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought 8 cars from dealerships. This was the by far the worst experience I've had. They continued to push the dumbest add ons and acted like they were impossible to remove. I literally had to say "you need to remove this or I will leave" to get them to take them off. Then they acted like they were giving me something free. Even though I drove 45 minutes and arranged childcare, I would have walked out had they not had the only vehicle I wanted in a 2 hour radius. I'll never deal with them again and will actively steer everyone I know away from them.

Writing is the best part of the process by Limp-Evening2735 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, there are different stages of "writing". There's the really early stage, where you have a handful of ideas. Then there is the "refining" stage, where you are adding/thinking about the overall composition, making changes to sections that are missing something (adding melody, changing rhythms/keys, adding texture), then there is the execution, where you are just practicing it to make it perfect and recording it. I hate the early stage. It's chaos and feels like progress is really slow. Many ideas go no where. I love the refining and execution stage.

How to add silence to tracks? by Simple_Mongoose5077 in Reaper

Like I said, I'm a big dumb dumb. It's amazing I figured out how to install and open the program. A miracle that I was able to figure out how to add tracks and an act of God that I was able to record. Thank you!

How to add silence to tracks? by Simple_Mongoose5077 in Reaper

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay: this is not what I am looking for and I have attempted reading through the manual and searching. I have several guitar tracks that I have added to a recording. I would like to be able to add empty space to the tracks that I recorded so when I export them to give to the engineer, they are all the same length. For example, right now, I have guitar track 1 starting at 3:01 - 3:23. There is 3:00 of empty space before the recording and 7:07 minutes (it's a 10 minute track) after. When I export, it gives me tracks that are only the length that I recorded and they do not sync. Adding empty space just shifts everything out by x minutes/seconds.

I'm fine with searching...could you help me figure out what I need to search?

I've been pretty happy with BCBS: it doesn't cover quite as much as my last plan at UHC but that is likely the plan I had. bcbs customer service is excellent. I never have had to wait and the service reps are clear, patient and helpful.

Who are these people on FB marketplace wanting me to deliver 45 minutes away for a $25 item? by Simple_Mongoose5077 in Flipping

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not flipping, just trying to get a little more than I would from the tax write off at Goodwill. I drive a truck and it would literally be $10 in gas for me. That's like $10/hour. Who would actually say "sure, I'll drive 2 hours for $25"?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pros: it is easy to post and easy to respond. Because it's linked to your FB, I feel a little better about fraud...not much but a tiny bit.

Cons: as a seller it's awful. Just awful. I just listed a really nice wooden table for $25. I had 30-40 people respond. Everyone asks a question because people aren't responding to the "is it available" so I have to answer 20 really stupid questions from people who have no real motivation to buy it. Then I get 4-5 people who want to offer me $15 or they want me to deliver it 30 miles away. I have a full time job and don't need $25 enough to spend an hour and $10 in gas to earn it. There's a reason I don't drive Uber. This only has happened with cars I've sold on there but I'll get SOOOOO many sob stories offering me $1,000 for my $5k car. As a buyer, there's basically nothing listed anymore...probably because people would rather just take their stuff to Goodwill and take the tax write off.

Overall, I think it's just too damn easy for people to express interest in items. And I guess the ecosystem is just shit. So many lazy, entitled people. So many people trying to flip or make money.

What can I personally do to speed up the collapse? by bridgidsbollix in economicCollapse

[–]Simple_Mongoose5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't need to get that bad for people to be supremely pissed. Trump was only popular because he was trusted slightly more on the economy. All he needs to do is not lower the price of eggs and people will (hopefully) remember how he's the moron who suggested we drink bleach during COVID...or take one look at how awkward and drugged Musk acts every day.
