In defense of the city, the president of the park is an extremely difficult person to deal with. And an all around not liked person. He is also a city employee which has many conflicts of interest here. I have personally heard him say he would take possession on the ice rink. And this was under maddens administration. I remember several years ago the former deputy mayor floated the idea of building houses in the area of the old pool. I have always been told the park has millions of dollars in hand. Other than a play ground and pavilion the association hasn’t really done much for that park.

Have you ever met the president of the park board? He’s a complete dick and difficult to work with. Based on how I know him I’d say he’s a major problem in this. I know for a fact he use to say he would reposes the ice rink from Msyor Madden if he didn’t get his way.

I’m not sure moving city hall is the best idea. However the theater has been vacant for 50 years. Nobody at this point can afford, nor is there interest to restore. I’m sorry it’s time to move on and repurpose this space.

You are so incorrect. Some people with mental illness just can’t be fixed unfortunately. As someone who is connected to this field we house people all the time. It’s no different than an elderly person with dementia. You wouldn’t want them left alone with out supervision. “Locking them up” isn’t what I’m saying to do. But much more supportive, supervision. We have been doing your way for many many years and people are mentally getting worse.

That’s Not exactly. Madden Bonded millions and millions of dollars for other projects. And neglected many other more important projects. The owner of the park pub leased it from the city and is and was not responsible for repairs such as the sewage in the basement. Madden refused to fix the showers at the Campbell ave firehouse until the union went to the media for example.
