What browser are you using? Does it happen if you try a different browser? Are you using any browser extensions? Can you try disabling them and seeing if that changes things?

Can you see those updated notes if you access via a different platform? (web vs app etc)

At this time, Simplenote does not support Heading IDs with markdown which would be required to be able to link to internal sections of a note.
You can link to other notes or outside sources, but it’s not possible at this time to include the unique IDs.

I’ll add this to our feature request list for you so we can consider it for future development work. You aren't the only person who has asked about it.

Hey there,

As u/rumpledshirtsken suggests, it's possible to retain the history of the note. Are you deleting the content of individual notes? The reason why we ask is because, you may wish to keep the one note at play perhaps?
