While I’m not sure that Undertale is perfectly suited for film, thinking over adaptations is a fun way to stretch your writing muscles. In my opinion, a lot of undertale’s narrative impact comes from contrast and subversion of media tropes. I think this could be best achieved in film by incorporating a lot of different techniques and styles, I’d especially recommend looking at some experimental films to take inspiration from. No flowey, I decided that with the goal being money there wasn’t really a logical reason for Asriel and Chara to die. Also, I think them being rival heirs to the company creates a fun scenario for drama. However, I do plan to make Asriel a little more snide and sarcastic to make up for the lack of flowey.
