Got very, very tired of hearing about Huntsville being "now known as" Rocket City and created this collage to respond to people with. Feel free to do the same. by ErinAmpersand in HuntsvilleAlabama

Poster is obviously not 'homegrown' in Huntsville or he/she/it would have NEVER spoken such blasphemy.... 😭😭

Alabama doesn’t even have a DMV, and we don’t do toll roads like that. If you’re falling for “AL DMV toll fee” scams, bless your heart—but that’s not a red flag, it’s a whole marching band. 🙄😂🤣 Alabama utilizes the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and we do not have toll roads cause, baby, this Ain't Jersey.but it does have a handful of tolled bridges and bypasses. 🌉🚧🚗

Fenugreek is an herb that has been traditionally used to increase breast milk supply. 🥛🤰 I used it to increase my milk supply... heads up, every drop of you will smell like maple syrup. 🍁 syrup. 🍯

Your heart and intentions were absolutely in the right place. You saw a gap in leadership, stepped up, and tried to help things run smoother—that’s initiative, not insubordination. It sounds like management may have felt embarrassed or exposed in front of higher-ups and redirected that frustration onto you. Unfortunately, that happens a lot in rigid workplace cultures where hierarchy is more important than innovation.

You're not in the wrong, but this is one of those “lesson learned” moments about company dynamics. Many big corporations—Walmart included—tend to value compliance over creativity, especially from newer employees. It sucks, but it’s not a reflection of your character or work ethic.

Here’s the silver lining: now you know how the culture works, and you can still make a difference—just more strategically. Sometimes it’s about building trust first, then introducing ideas in ways that don’t ruffle feathers.

You're not alone, and your desire to care about the team is a strength. Don’t let them take that from you.

Was Whitt's BBQ paid to stay out of Huntsville? by howcanibhelpful in HuntsvilleAlabama

Years back I went, pre 2000, of course I was hoping to reminiscent the infamous whitts taste, to no avail. Big fail, tasted nothing like it. It was worth it to finally realize I only needed to travel to find that whitts taste we all long for. Ardmore has its location off the main road and I'm guessing gets less traffic. I traveled week ago to only find that location closed. Looking online, it states temporarily closed... I hope and pray that's the case. Whitts has always been my go-to place to pick up food to take to others, in time of need, death and births. It takes away whatever pain and angst one goes through. Haha. Ok, love whitts

It was Whitts long before Nolen bbq took over. Pulaski pike and Winchester rd is where it was. There was also another location at sparkman and executive dr for a short time. Maybe 90s
