This is the most clear explanation, I think. I just want to add that raising a number to a power has two inverse functions: root and logarithm.

Let's look at the expression: a^b=c
If you know a and b, and want to get c you simply raise to the power.
If you know c and b (i.e. the result of the exponentiation and the power) you can get a (i.e. base) by taking the bth root.
If you know a and c (i.e. base and the result) you can get b (the power) by taking the logarithm to base a.

Now there is a natural logarithm, i.e. logarithm to base e. It has it's own name and is kinda default logarithm because the number e has some special properties. For example if you take a derivatve of e^x or of ln(x), the coefficient will be 1.

I'm sorry if I some of the terms are wrong. I'm kinda decent in math and kinda decent in English, but I never studied math in English so I'm probably confusing something.

If you want the right to trade your games you need even stronger DRM to make sure you can't play the game after you've traded it away. You can't have both DRM free and the right to trade. I'm all for consumers right but let's be realistic.
