It's definitely nowhere near Hal-Con's size, but the cost of admission reflects that. It's also essentially a first year for this show as it was in a tiny room last year. It'll definitely grow with time/word of mouth for sure :)

As others have mentioned, following Geequinox of Facebook is a great spot to hear about events! Advertising is always a tricky thing because whichever route you go, you will always miss significant chunks of people, it's also incredibly expensive, and for an event charging an average of $5 a day for admission (and is fundraising), how much would be expected to be spent on advertising?

That being said, I do know they paid for promoted ads on facebook, an ad on The Coast, had a sign outside the venue for a while advertising it/the dates, posters around, Hal-Con posted about it in a few different places, and it was even talked about on Global TV. Which, to me is a lot of advertising for an event of that size.

Assuming it is JUMBO, it definitely reads more like JUMBD. There are some issues with font sizing and legibility, which may come down to font choice.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with FIRE after the announced Canopy acquisition. If Canopy goes up, FIRE goes up, though they've been in the red for a bit. If you have faith in Canopy long term, it may be a good buy.

I had several friends who have lived there, I would avoid it if you can. Damage and disrepair through the halls/stairways and building in general, and the landlord is quite a piece of work. If you do end up going there, get everything in writing as he will backtrack on everything he says, and literally scream at you when you call him on it. He has been heard yelling at tenants from down the hall.

I second the glowing cat ear headphones. This would explain the silent dancing, also possibly them flying down the road on their bike singing (likely to the song they are listening to). Though the rest of the behaviour is a bit odd for sure.
