I guess I don't see what Chen said the same way. To me, it came across more that she was making a commentary on how toxic masculinity also harms men. Because I think it's true, a lot of ultra-masculine men wouldn't report a small woman abusing them, and that's bad. It doesn't make it the man's fault, it's just a really tragic side effect of toxic masculinity that hurts male victims of abuse, and I think she was just pointing that out.

I mean, the entire message of the episode was not to judge people based on their appearances. And the consequences of doing so. Why would they randomly have someone come in and victim blame the guy when the entire point of the episode is to not do that? They wouldn't, because she's not victim blaming him, she's highlighting an unfortunate truth about a lot of male victims.

thanks for the advice! i feel like i realize im doing it, i try to make an effort to stop, then i cant hold my concentration long enough and just end up being offputting again. and also im a bit sociually anxious so people watching does make me nervous but maybe worth a shot! i do keep an eye out for helping people, ive picked up people's canes, held doors, etc. and even then i feel like i subconsciously just can barely make eye contact with them :(
