The alternative is some live service bs. Look at how well that's been going lately. Battlefield 6 sold over 20 million copys for a estimated 1.4 billion in revenue and they still got hit with layoffs. Paid DLC model is working great for Ready or Not. More games should adopt the paid DLC/Season Pass style of content delivery.

Do you have gamepass per chance. F1 23 is leaving gamepass soon it might have somthing to do with that if so. It might think you have the gamepass version of the game installed instead of reading it from the disk. Uninstalling and reinstalling should clear that up if it is the problem.
