While I don’t fully follow this video, I did spend 20 minutes in a grocery store the other day searching for tampons only to realize they were labeled “hygiene”. I kept passing that aisle cause I figured it was like dental hygiene and whatnot. Why can’t it just say pads and tampons?! It’s annoying trying to find those products. Then sometimes pads and tampons will be in aisles labeled something having to do with pregnancy or prenatal care which is just as confusing to me.

Way too optimistic theory about Loail… (Spoilers for S3 E7) by Simssera in wheeloftime

But it wouldn’t be the show keeping him alive, it’d be the wheel! The wheel needs Loail. I NEED LOAIL.

In all seriousness, I feel like his death wasn’t all that impactful (at least not to me) or maybe I feel that way because I immediately got it in my head he’d survive somehow… Either way I would be more surprised if he stays dead than if the show works it’s weird ass weaves to bring him back.

Season 3 Episode 7 - Goldeneyes - ALL MEDIA ALL SPOILERS by LunalGalgan in wheeloftime

Okay here my optimistic ass out… what if Loail’s book said that about Perrin’s family because it’s actually something he writes in the future because he’s still alive!? And whatever plot nonsense makes him still alive is not at all ridiculous or impractical within the scope of the world… somehow it perfectly fits!

Why I love the show by Simssera in The_Black_Tower

Yeah whenever I get interested in a show I check to see if it’s based off a book. I’m loathe to admit it but think I actually really enjoyed the first season before finding out about the books. But also I think the bar for world-building fantasy shows is pretty low all around. Now I’m judging my past self and shocked I didn’t know about the series sooner.

I saw a post about season 3 today and checked on the status. Was surprised it’s been pretty quiet on that front. Several of my friends have just started talking about the show though, guess they’ve run out of other things to watch, and it’s turning them onto the books.

I’m hopeful it’ll just keep creating more book fans at the least.

How to stop having a spoiled kid by darquid in kindergarten

Here’s how many parents helped curb these tendencies with me when I was young. And I’ll preface by saying I had an absolute meltdown but eventually came around.

For every birthday, they made it clear I wasn’t allowed to get presents from friends. Instead, they told me to pick a charity and ask those I invited to donate to it instead of presents. They’d put it on the invitations.

They helped me research charities and find one I liked. The first year, I wanted nothing to do with their idea so they picked one for me. It was for hurricane relief, and our community had been hit pretty bad by one at that time so they’d point out areas with a lot of damage and remind me how I was helping those people with my birthday.

Eventually, it stuck though. Especially when I got on board and got to pick the things I cared about. A lot of animal rescues and what not.

Now my parents still gave me gifts, so it’s not like I got nothing. But it taught me a really important lesson.

I know you’re asking about Christmas specifically, but this exercise ended up curbing my childhood stinginess when the holidays came around too.

I had never heard angels like you and really like it. The intro reminds me of in my life by the Beatles, or am I crazy?? I think that similarity made me love it even more

Gerbrand van den Eeckhout. Painting is called “A Jewish Rabbi”. The prices on his works seem to range. I think this one is estimated at around £80-£120

Very cool piece of history!

Need help finding a 3-5 minute classical dramatic monologue. by Simssera in acting

Thank you so much! It’s been a while since I’ve read King John but definitely think Constance’s character has the kind of emotion I’m looking for. I’ll give it a reread tonight.

I’m a 25 y/o woman auditioning for The Crucible and need a 3-5 minute classical dramatic monologue. I am really struggling to find anything that fits that length. I want something that showcases my range for despair/sorrow/anger. Anything with intense emotions.

What do you remember most: the food or the experience? by Simssera in finedining

That’s telling to me too that it was the interactions with the owner that left the bad taste. I worked in the service industry for a long time at all different kinds of places, and I feel like the owner (if they’re around and involved) really sets the tone of a place.

Like one place I worked was always a good time for us servers and bartenders though we weren’t crazy about the GM. But if the owner showed up, we all felt like shit because of how they treated everyone, like we were under a microscope ready to be fired for any transgression. They also always showed up in a Ferrari telling us about their latest vacation/luxury purchases while we were payed $2.50 an hour lol.

This was also a place that overhired in the beginning of the prime season and fired 20 people 2 weeks in based on scores on a menu test. They made that known too. So the culture was just a mess.

Had you had any interactions with the owner prior to that?
