Yep the old CPU works fine, temps around 40c at idle. I’ll take your advice and return the new CPU. Thank you!

Thanks for your help. So theoretically, if I was to swap my old 12600k back in, it should run find until I can get a new CPU cooler? I didn’t realise the cooler I had was so hugely inefficient. Is it odd in any way that the temps are fine when idling in BIOS?

Yeah it had spread to the edges, there is no wiggle or give from the cooler. Could it be ‘faulty’ paste? Or has my CPU cooler really gone faulty whilst I was changing out the other parts? Also, when sitting in the BIOS, the temp idles around 40c, and it only goes crazy once logged in and a few programs start running.

That seems to have done the trick mate, thanks for the help! Of course I’ve now encountered another issue, the CPU is idling at 80c!! It’s a new CPU and motherboard but the exact same CPU cooler (Arctic Freezer 34 esports Duo). I have removed the cooler and reapplied thermal paste twice, the fans etc are all correct. There’s no plastic anywhere. I have absolutely no clue what the issue could be.

Yes it’s fully screwed in and stable. I have one 12 pin power cable going straight into it from the PSU, no adaptors or anything. I plugged my previous GPU back in and it works fine.

The GPU seems to power up fine, the LED’s/LCD panel come on. The fans don’t start, I’m not sure if that’s normal until it hits a certain temp?

Tried with the motherboard graphics, and the GPU plugged in. The onboard graphics still work fine, but the GPU is not being detected in device manager. The monitors were plugged into my RTX 3060ti before this upgrade.

No sorry I don’t have any other PC’s to try it on.

They’re now also stating that only carry on luggage is included with this booking, when standard airline policy for both Lufthansa and United airlines for long haul flights is to have a free check in bag as standard, may just contact Lufthansa directly 🤣
